The Director of Marketing for Pacers Sports and Entertainment is an integral member of the marketing team. This person is responsible for developing the strategic vision and execution plan for the business entity of PS&E including company branding, community outreach and event marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute umbrella marketing plans for key PS&E initiatives (e.g. Title IX, Black History Month, Fieldhouse/Plaza Re-Opening) working cross functionally with sport franchise team leads, Corporate PR, Community Relations and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion teams

  • Partner with LiveNation, OVG, AEG and other event promoters to develop marketing plan for Gainbridge Fieldhouse events (e.g. concerts, WWE, comedians). This might include creation of and placement of advertising in print, electronic, television, radio and outdoor avenues, and grassroots marketing campaigns

  • Identify strategic opportunities to market PS&E in key community activations, activities and civic events

  • Collaborate with and lead the PS&E digital counterpart, graphic designers and web team to develop a content calendar and assets including website, web and social content to support the PS&E Corporate initiatives

  • Partner with Corporate Public Relations, Community Engagement, Pacers and Fever teams to identify moments to be shared and amplified on social

  • Serve as PS&E marketing representative on 2024 NBA All Star committee; identify opportunities for all brands to elevate, enhance and maximize the All Star presence in Indianapolis.

  • Develop and facilitate community partnerships. Engage and work with the Indianapolis area business and civic community to help meet organizational goals

  • Develop strategies with Human Resources to highlight employment opportunities and position PSE as employer of choice in Indianapolis (e.g. story telling via website, LinkedIN, new hire posts)

  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual needs to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Proven success in working in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient in both B2B and B2C marketing strategy development and deployment

  • Proven project management experience and how to review post-execution to learn and refine for future improvements

  • An ability to facilitate meetings with strategic partners and how to integrate into a co-branded effort

  • Employing a naturally collaborative style, can work seamlessly across the organization to ensure a consistent voice and message across all communication channels

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, and at least 7 years of professional experience and/or a combination of graduate level education (i.e., MBA) and experience

  • Experience in marketing, public relations and social/digital

  • Executive presence with a worker’s mentality--a “strategic-doer”

  • Art direction experience is helpful; an aesthetic eye to protect and polish the PSE brand

PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to see projects through to completion regardless of creative, logical, or technical difficulties.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

This position requires the employee to be proficient with Microsoft suite of tools. It requires an understanding of social media sites, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and other emerging channels. A basic understanding of graphics tools is ideal.
