We are looking for a Chief Engineer to join our Intuit Dome team! Intuit Dome will redefine the live event experience. The LA Clippers’ New Home will:

Chief Engineer is responsible for leading staff and processes to ensure maximum life and reliability of all building systems, with a focus on peak performance during events. As Chief Engineer, you will lead all activities and in-house staff related to the maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of all building systems, including but not limited to HVAC, mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, cooking and plumbing systems within the Intuit Dome property, garages and grounds, while ensuring the venue is always event-ready.

The right candidate will have demonstrated experience in computerized maintenance management systems, building automation systems, sustainability measures to reduce carbon footprint.

This is a full-time role based in Los Angeles and is eligible for our competitive benefit offerings including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with company contribution, Well-Being Allowance, and more. The scope of this position encompasses a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation with the transition of numerous daily events. Due to the nature of this industry, the candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including weeknights, weekends, and holidays to cover high profile Concerts and NBA Games.

What You Will Do

  • Lead all aspects of all general building maintenance and building inspections, and monitor utility usages
  • Ensure compliance with expense guidelines, company policy, NBA and artist protocols and governing codes
  • Respond to client requests, open and assign work orders
  • Help reduce the carbon footprint and lead sustainability efforts
  • Photovoltaic energy collection, storage and usage
  • Micro grid administration and grid load shedding
  • Emergency procedures and back up systems for business continuity
  • Generate reports and make recommendations on operating efficiencies
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Background, Skills And Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the field of facility management, engineering and maintenance, preferably in a complex and sophisticated deadline driven environment.
  • A minimum of five (5) years progressive supervisory management experience in Facilities Management with direct responsibility supervising and leading staffs across a wide-range of operating functions in a changing environment.
  • Extensive understanding of all facets of building engineering and facilities in a LEED Platinum environment
  • Prior experience opening a new state of the art venue preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact effectively and professionally, diplomatically and maturely with internal and external clients and peers at all levels within an organization and throughout the community, both oral and written.
  • Highly organized with excellent project coordination, project management skills, and attention to detail to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Knowledge of and a passion for professional basketball and live entertainment
  • Highly responsive to emergencies in a fast paced, time sensitive environment with demonstrated confidence, decision-making, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to lead, give clear, concise direction and provide constructive feedback within a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment

Compensation

  • $150,000 - $180,000 annual compensation. Compensation package offered will be based on multiple individualized factors, including a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
