SummaryThis position, reporting to the Director, Ticket Strategy, is responsible for supporting decision-making in revenue-generating departments through data analytics. This position will require the knowledge and ability to extract key insights from large unstructured datasets and present results in a clear and compelling story to Nationals leadership. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to create and maintain business intelligence dashboards that drive the Nationals’ profitability. Strong written and oral communication skills will be required in presenting documents to senior Nationals executives.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct analyses to deliver business insights, covering a variety of topics such as ticket strategy, marketing effectiveness, new business pro forma P&L, and retail and concessions profitability
- Collaborate with Major League Baseball on the joint data infrastructure initiative across both League-owned and Club-owned assets
- Perform statistical analyses on large data sets to develop ticket pricing and inventory management strategies to optimize revenue
- Develop predictive models from scratch that inform strategic recommendations
- Build database structures and views in Google BigQuery that enable near-real-time visualizations
- Manage external and internal stakeholders to complete data integrations and management for the Customer Data Platform
- Develop and maintain insightful business intelligence dashboards deployed across all Nationals revenue and marketing departments
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Undergraduate degree, with major in economics, mathematics, engineering, or computer science preferred
- 2+ years of experience in consulting, finance, or analytical strategy role preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
- Proficiency in Tableau, Looker, and/or similar data visualization tool required
- Proficiency in SQL required
- Proficiency in cloud structure (e.g., Google Cloud Platform) preferred
- Proficiency in Python preferred
- Ability to extract key insights from large, unstructured datasets and synthesize into key recommendations for leadership
- Excellent communication skills and ability to tailor key messages to the appropriate audience
- Knowledge of P&L structures and levers to optimize revenues and costs, especially in dynamic consumer markets
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work as a member of a fast-paced and cross-functional team
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability-a self-starter
- Utmost standards of integrity in all business dealings
- Position will require some weekend and/or evening work
- Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
