The NFL Media Group is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to take a leadership role in Remote Broadcast Operations and Technical Planning of NFL Media events, including overall broadcast remote technical planning, remote operations, engineering coordination of remote broadcasts, budgeting, vendor agreements and logistics. The Senior Manager, Remote Technical Operations will identify, create, oversee and implement operational and engineering planning for various NFL initiatives as they relate to the NFL Network and NFL Digital content group.

Responsibilities

  • This role must work close with the Director of Technical Operations in tandem to meet all of the production and operational needs.
  • Direct technical support for PCR teams, including Technical Directors, Audio, and Graphics
  • Assist in Signal Management and bookings as needed. Interact with Transmission team for appropriate routing and QC monitoring.
  • Ability to create and follow flow diagrams used in engineering and signal transmissions.
  • Works across Media Operations, Production, Engineering, Studio Operations, and Production Management, this individual develops and executes the technical and operational plans for all remote productions for NFL Network and NFL Media, including Super Bowl, NFL Draft, NFL Scouting Combine, NFL games and other events/shows.
  • Aspects of planning include base technical infrastructure such as mobile units, video/audio requirements, transmission, set/stage preparation, personnel, communications, show schedules, and budgeting.
  • Develop and maintain critical relationships with NFL partners, rightsholders, vendors and production entities pertaining to the overall technical planning for NFL tent pole events.
  • In conjunction with Studio Operations and Engineering, manage remote facilities and technical requirements of studio-based shows for NFL Network and NFL Media including plan design, equipment needs, technical installation, and crew schedules.
  • Manage the ordering and shipping of vendor rental gear and engineering equipment required on Remote Events including any NFL owned equipment.
  • Generate Tech Reports during and after events and manage database for current and previous tech books, show books, event information, schedules and vendor shipping. Communicate issues to operations, engineering, production, and production management and resolve issues as they arise.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-7 years' experience working with major Network, Events, and/or Cable remote television production and operations.
  • Proven Remote Broadcast Operations and Technical Planning experience
  • Must be proficient in MS Office products such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint with the ability to provide Engineering and Operational plans.

  • Exceptional organizational, time management and people skills with the ability to work cross-functionally -- this position works closely with the Sr Director Media Operations, VP of Production, VP of Engineering, Senior Director, Technical Operations, NFL Network Senior Coordinating Producers, NFL Network Production Management, NFL Events, NFL Broadcasting and NFL Club Business Development groups.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proved ability to trouble-shoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to manage highly-visible organization leaders and lead small teams within the confines of a production environment.

Physical Demands

Ability to work long hours due to event set-up, show production and strike.

Travel

Occasional travel required for planning, events, and games.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • Full-time exempt position with a minimum of 40 hours/week. Requires working weekends and evenings based on the event.
