Summary:

The Community Outreach Coordinator is a full-time position, who reports to the Director of Marketing.  The coordinator is responsible for running the Hooks Community Outreach program which includes grassroots marketing, donation management, and baseball camps.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

BRAND MANAGEMENT

  • Build and manage a strategic plan to promote the Hooks brand in the community
  • Schedule appropriate staffing for Hooks community appearances, including mascots, players, and Hooks activation team
  • Hold and grow a portfolio of group sales and tickets through community prospecting including Little Leagues, schools, extracurricular organizations and non-profits, among others
  • Work with sponsorship team and connect with current sponsors on appearances at company events
  • Lead logistics execution of Community Leaders programs in coordination with Director of Business Development and Director of Marketing
  • Represent the Hooks in a professional manner at outside events
  • Coordinate with Hooks retail team for specific community events
  • Execute all aspects of prize wheel including maintaining inventory of promotional items for activation team
  • Plan and execute Hooks comp ticket strategy
  • Execute 50/50 program with local non-profits

DONATION MANAGEMENT

  • Manage Hooks online donation request process
  • Maintain inventory of donation items
  • Track, process, & report item donations
  • Collaborate with other departments on fundraising initiatives, special events, & in-kind donations
  • Organize and run Hooks theme jersey auctions
  • Coordinate with clubhouse staff on theme jersey use
  • Work with finance on payments and distribution of jersey auction funds

BASEBALL CAMPS

  • Plan and organize Hooks summer and winter baseball camps
  • Track signups and collect payment from campers
  • Order shirts, photos, and other supplies for event
  • Schedule staffing, players, and coaches
  • Serve as primary point of contact on day of event

MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES

  • Assist with non-game events
  • Participate in tarp duties
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, social work, sports management or related field
  • 2+ years of community outreach experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft office (including word, excel, and power point)
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively multi-task
  • Detail oriented and deadline driven
  • Desire to make a positive impact in the Coastal Bend community
  • Capacity to think creatively and contribute new ideas
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Overall positive attitude and outlook
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills are preferred

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

 

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision. 

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; most/all home games/events, extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 

Travel

Occasional travel maybe expected in this role.
