Overall Responsibility

 

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Creative Services, the Manager of Creative Services will be a vital member of the design team who is both collaborative in spirit and also capable of leading projects across multiple mediums – broadcast, print, in-game, social media. This individual must have a clear vision for understanding and implementing Cardinals brand pillars into engaging advertising, content and visual storytelling for fans.

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

 

  • Assist Director, Creative Services as needed; including requests from across the Arizona Cardinals organization.
  • Assist with design and layout for a wide variety of print materials, including game day roster cards, game day promotions, yearbook, fliers, brochures, postcards, direct mail pieces, newspaper advertisements, and invitations.
  • Assist with project management - from concept to production, including preparing final files for proofing and print.
  • Assist with design, layout and output for large format printing.
  • Assist with creating visual media for digital platforms, including social, mobile app, website, and more.
  • Design and layout files for digital publications and email campaigns.
  • Work closely with all departments of the organization to develop graphics for internal and sponsor needs.
  • Manage junior team members on Creative Services team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience / Expectations

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education, training, and experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a graphic designer with a pro sports team, agency or production house.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the sports, entertainment, and special event industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to multi-task and solve problems in a high-stress, fast-paced live event/production environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly self-motivated with a shared commitment to excellence.
  • Must have extensive working experience of Adobe Creative Suite Software - InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat. Knowledge of Microsoft Office in Mac environment is a plus.
  • Maintain Arizona Cardinals and NFL standards as it relates to design. Understand branding strategies and how to work within a style guide.
  • Must plan, organize, and implement projects and tasks within an allotted time frame.
  • Must have experienced knowledge of production for collateral including resolution, photo editing, sizing and file types, as well as pre-press and print production.
  • Must have experience in digital design and create visually engaging content.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team or individually, with ability to take design direction and criticism.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use utmost discretion when privy to sensitive information.
  • Must be willing and able to work non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings during peak times of the year, this may include game day, nights, weekends, and holidays.

 

Working Conditions

 

Based at the Tempe, AZ practice facility, working conditions are normal for an office environment. May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

 

Physical Demands

 

Able to lift approximately 25 pounds.
