JOB SUMMARY: The IT Engineer will be responsible for providing Information Technology support and services to the organization with an emphasis on edge and wireless networking. This candidate must have exceptional customer service skills and experience working in a fast-paced environment. Base technical skills in a wide variety of platforms and areas to include but not limited to end user devices (laptops, desktops and mobile), servers and virtualization, network switching and routing, WiFi, cloud services and applications, storage and backup platforms. The candidate will have a solid base troubleshooting skillset on both hardware and software levels. The candidate will communicate and collaborate with the entire IT Team, other Technical Departments, and the rest of the organization. This position will require basic project management and documentation skills to help deliver viable solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Contributes to team effort by working on advanced tier 2/3 technical projects with Senior IT Engineers including but not limited to off hour IT work (installations and upgrades); installing and troubleshooting network switch and Wi-Fi issues (LAN, WAN, and WLAN), VOIP systems, firewalls, servers and virtualization, storage systems and backups, on premise applications, and VPN issues. Maintaining cloud services and applications, such as Okta, M365, Jamf, Check Point Harmony and Intranet.
Manages and runs tier 1 network technical tasks which include but are not limited to; network switches and routers, network services and Wi-Fi, VOIP systems, servers and virtualization, firewalls, on prem/cloud applications, end user devices. Required to meet deadlines and provide/maintain accurate technical supporting documentation.
Work with IT team on building out base levels for various systems including; deploying new servers (hardware and virtual), storage systems, Wi-Fi systems, on prem/cloud applications, firewall configurations, end user devices, and networking configurations.
Work through 1st and 2nd Tier helpdesk IT issues including; end user devices (laptops, desktops, mobile phones and tablets), on prem/cloud applications and security issues as they arise. This includes working on printer/copier issues. May require working with vendors when/where needed.
Provide IT Support coverage when/where needed including evening hours, travel, game day and event support when required.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by:
Collaborates with the IT team on security initiatives across the various platforms throughout the organization. Assist with security standards and processes to ensure requirements are met for Security audits.
