The role of the Strategic Partnerships Manager is to help grow the 49ers Foundation’s footprint and impact in the Bay Area through long-term corporate partnerships and strategic individual donor relations that can offer reach and revenue to support the brand and its organizational priorities.

 

Through an existing network of connections in the Bay Area and/or new prospecting, the Manager should be comfortable selling sponsorships for signature Foundation events and community impact programs; securing donations from fans and high net worth donors; and activating partnerships around team and Foundation assets.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assists with all 49ers Foundation fundraising activities, including identifying prospective individual and corporate donors for events and programs and ensuring timely and accurate reporting to funders.
  • Generates new ideas, individually and as a part of a team, to increase revenue and donor loyalty.
  • Manages Salesforce system to track and cultivate donors and prospects.
  • Assists in planning and coordinating stewardship activities and acknowledgments of gifts.
  • Supports team members on larger partnership initiatives and prospect stewardship tied to Foundation events, 49ers home games, Training Camp, and more.
  • Prepares grants, proposals, and other requests to solicit financial support along with budget relieving in-kind donations.
  • Leads relationship with the in-house marketing team for fundraising program design, printing, and sponsorship collateral.
  • Participates in social media and various digital marketing projects as it relates to promoting 49ers Foundation charitable events, programs, and fundraising campaigns.

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays).
  • Genuine joy for engaging with donors, event attendees, and sports; warm, approachable, and comfortable interacting with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Works well under pressure and adapts easily to changing situations and priorities; exercises sound judgment and stays focused on overarching goals.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree and 5 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, major gifts, sales, partnership development, and/or fundraising program management, hitting annual fundraising targets.
  • Preferred experience of at least one (1) year managing staff and/or managing program activations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience with CRM (examples: Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge).

This position requires the ability to work extended hours and/or weekends.

 

Travel:

30% of local travel time and 5% of intra and interstate travel requiring overnight stay are expected for this position.
