Community Relations Coordinator - Atlanta Falcons

Summary of Job: This position will provide support to the Community Relations Department, specifically to the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders program and the Freddie Falcon mascot program. This is a full-time position that will require additional evening and weekend hours as dictated by the department’s events and game day responsibilities. This position will report directly to the Director of Community Relations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as a liaison between the Community Relations Department and the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders squad/Freddie Falcon mascot program
  • Provide administrative support for Cheerleading/Mascot events including, but not limited to, annual cheerleading auditions, mascot community programs, and organizational wide events
  • Assist with facilitating cheerleader and mascot appearance requests throughout the year
  • Maintain cheerleaders/mascot appearance calendar and coordinating logistics such as security, appearance logs, etc.  
  • Provide social media coverage when applicable for appearances
  • Order and maintain Cheerleading/Mascot equipment, supplies and storage
  • Respond to and track fan mail and auction request inquiries for Cheerleaders/Mascot
  • Work closely with the Director of Cheerleading /Mascot Manager in support of community-based programs, volunteerism, and other initiatives
  • Assist choreographer with sending choreography updates including routine lists, practice reminders, music and practice videos
  • Support the Community Relations team as needed

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience in event operations and planning
  • At least one year experience working in the sports industry preferred
  • Previous experience engaging with collegiate or professional athletes preferred

 

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
