What You Will Do:

The Coordinator, Basketball Strategy & Research will assist in the creation of data-derived information pertaining to game strategy, player development, team building and WNBA personnel evaluation. The role will work on projects throughout the data pipeline, including data cleaning and ingestion, research, analysis, tool-building, visualization, and/or presentation. This work will be used by coaches, performance staff, and front office personnel to influence decision-making and maximize the on-court performance of the Phoenix Mercury.

What Skills We Need our Coordinator to Possess:

• Proficient in R/Python
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Experience with data visualization
• Strong communication skills
• Must demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and integrity
• Must be high energy, very detailed, intuitive, a self-starter, and work with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate ability to problem solve and prioritize based on organizational experience

Education & Experience:

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in statistics, engineering, applied math, physics, quantitative social sciences, or computer science program
