As part of our PMO team, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. They will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all business requirements are met and support the Club’s strategic plan. The Senior Project Manager will be expected to immediately manage large-sized projects as well as small programs.

 

 

Essential Functions of the Job 

  • Experienced with project management concepts, practices, and procedures. 

  • Oversee all aspects of a project from initiation to completion. 

  • Expected to manage multiple initiatives concurrently. 

  • Maintain and monitor project budgets and identify areas for cost-savings. 

  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. 

  • Document requirements, define scope and objectives and formulate solutions to support business strategies and initiatives. 

  • Lead process mapping sessions and translate requirements into design. 

  • Conduct project lessons learned meetings and incorporate those lessons into future projects 

  • Act as a mentor to junior project managers as well as others who need assistance and advice regarding project management practices 

  • Incorporate RACI methodology when assigning project tasks 

  • Help influence the decision process by facilitating collaboration of business stakeholders, vendors, and the IT team. 

  • Interact with peers, department leaders, and management to present business issues and plans in both written and verbal communication in a variety of settings (e.g. presentations, large and small meetings, status reports). 

  • Stays current on market and technology trends, new functionality, and vendor offerings.  Works with management to identify current and future needs and opportunities based on industry trends. 

  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of Augusta National Golf Club, its staff and membership, and all aspects of the business. 

  • Trains others on responsibilities and how to accomplish tasks. 

  • Ensures effective running of processes, programs, and projects.  

  • Physical demands are outlined immediately below.  

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties. 

  • Occasionally required to move and carry up to 30 pounds and/or drive a golf cart. 

  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. 

  • Required intervals of walking, standing, stair climbing, and sitting during the day.

Other Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with general IT-related tasks as needed. 

  • Assist with IT-related tasks and preparations for The Masters Tournament. 

  • Performs other duties which are deemed by management to be an important part of the job. 

 

Qualifications: 

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes: 

  • Experience with one or more project management methodologies (for example, Waterfall, Scrum or Agile) 

  • Working knowledge of project management software 

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills  

  • Ability to explain IT concepts and technologies to business leaders 

  • Ability to lead projects from initiation to completion 

  • Attention to detail 

  • Ability to manage competing demands and priorities while taking ownership of work and meeting deadlines 

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner 

  • Works well in groups and has skills to facilitate problem-solving discussions 

  • Ability to handle issues and know when to escalate to management for assistance 

  • Ability to maintain composure and focus while working in a high-pressure environment 

 

Relative Experience/Education: 

  • Bachelors degree in IT, Business Administration or relevant field 

  • 5+ years of experience working as a project manager 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required

 

Required License(s): 

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully completes the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program 

 

Projected Work Schedule:  

Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
