Job Summary
The NBA is looking for a Digital Program Manager to support our mission of empowering NBA Teams to develop best-in-class, digital experiences. This position serves as a direct point of coordination for NBA teams and the NBA Product team, with a focus on building out direct-to-consumer experiences. This individual will work alongside the multiple league and team groups to define strategy, drive alignment across the organization, and ensure effective delivery of team digital products.
The person in this role will develop best practices on direct-to-consumer experiences through communication with multiple internal and team stakeholders, as well as drive effective processes for this league and team collaboration.
Major Responsibilities
- Work directly with NBA teams on a daily basis to develop and support their direct-to-consumer products
- Manage schedules and deliverables for multiple direct-to-consumer product offerings
- Coordinate schedules and deliverables with teams, internal league stakeholders and external partners to ensure effective delivery
- Ensure that materials are received on time and reviewed by necessary parties
- Coordinate with development team leads to ensure business requirements are accounted for and that timelines are being met
- Partner with external agencies and third-party vendors to ensure expectations are consistent across all stakeholders
- Act as a first line of support for digital initiatives
- Provide teams timely support for product questions and concerns
- Promote cross-project communications and sharing of information
- Responsible for creating and maintaining high standard documents of best practices, as well as presenting them to multiple team stakeholders and league senior leadership
- Develop presentations to be shared at team calls and meetings, as well as documentation
- Use analytical abilities to identify trends & recommend solutions that will help improve the user experience
- Identify additional monetizable opportunities in these direct-to-consumer experiences
- Evaluate current processes and procedures and initiate process improvement actions to create efficiencies and scalable solutions
- Work with team and league stakeholders to prioritize team requests
- Coordinate with Product team to launch features and troubleshoot issues
- Build and maintain strong relationships across multiple levels within organization and with our teams and partners
Required Education/Professional Experience
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of program management or project management experience
- Must have experience managing multiple vendors or accounts
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results and status updates to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Experience working in a cross functional environment within a fast-paced, often ambiguous space
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, legal, marketing, etc.) •
Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes
- Strong understanding of the live streaming space, regional sports network business, and subscription-based services.
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational and project management skills
- Strong analytical and written communication skills
- Excellent internal and client-facing communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership, influence, and persuasion skills
- Knowledge of basketball and a passion for sports a bonus, but not mandatory
