Network Engineer position involves hands-on, day-to-day IT operations for network components for business departments, applications, media workflows, game-day, and event-related services for the LA Clippers. The candidate should be a self-starter and can work both independently and with all levels of employees. The candidate should have excellent outward behavior and attitude to interpersonal relationships, as well as an appetite for learning and a desire to deliver quality and timely solutions.

This is a full-time role based out of our DTLA office and will support operations in DTLA, Playa Vista, and Inglewood. This role is eligible for our competitive benefit offerings including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan with company contribution, Well-Being Allowance, and more.

Job Functions:

  • Implement, configure, monitor, maintain, and support computer networks including servers, VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, load balancers, and other hardware and virtual appliances and machines.
  • Provide administration support for Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Virtual Private Network (VPN).
  • Supervise network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, and security configurations to ensure optimal operations.
  • Proactively monitor device and system resource utilization, trends, and infrastructure capacity.
  • Diagnose network and internet connectivity issues. Be on-call for any network outages.
  • Provide technical support to users and business units, responding to network-related helpdesk tickets as needed.
  • Provides technical support and assistance to internal and external customers during normal and after regular hours when necessary which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Participate in the setup and breakdown of IT equipment for games and other event technology needs.
  • Follow the change management policies to ensure that routine, comprehensive and emergency changes are logged and approved.
  • Audit the implementation of security configuration based on the established policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve documentation of the network infrastructure and security including design documents, operations documents, troubleshooting guides and training materials.
  • Contribute to the creation and testing of contingency plans including business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident response.
  • Provide input and participate in strategic planning sessions.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors as needed.
  • Contribute to critical initiatives focused on venue technology and moving the business forward.
  • Complete any special projects assigned in the given deadline.
  • Develop reports and presentations for management as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance in a corporate environment.
  • Experience in LAN/WAN technologies – fiber, Ethernet, WiFi, PTP, MPLS and or DWDM.
  • Experience with cabling technologies - Category 5, Category 6, Single & Multi-Mode Fiber.
  • Experience terminating their own ethernet cords.
  • Experience managing a diverse network of services, applications, operating systems, and hardware.
  • Experience in maintaining, implementing, troubleshooting HD Wi-Fi solutions.
  • Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting network firewalls.
  • Knowledge of routing and switching protocols.
  • Able to accurately define, diagnose, and configure common network terms and concepts such as MPLS/VPLS, VLANs, DHCP, HSRP, NAT/PAT, QoS, VSS, NAC, VPN, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, PBR, TFTP/SFTP, etc
  • Proficient in packet analysis.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Solarwinds, Datadog, etc.)
  • Strong experience in maintaining and troubleshooting Azure network technologies.
  • Solid understanding of TCP and UDP ports.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate with others in the company across technical and non-technical roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a large venue (10k+ capacity) and supporting live events.
  • CCNA or comparable certification.

Compensation:

  • $120,000 - $130,000 annual compensation. Compensation package offered will be based on multiple individualized factors, including a candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • This role is classified as exempt.
