Position Description

 

The Controls System Engineer provides technical support for Stadium Operations at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Controls System Engineer will report directly to the Engineering Manager. This role is vital in maintaining stadium systems for efficient operations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee Stadium Operations Systems such as but not limited to:
  • Building Automation System (Metasys)
  • Open Blue Energy Manager (OBEM)
  • Roof Operating Control (Uni-HMI)
  • EV Charging Stations
  • ETC Lighting Controls System (Paradigm/Mosaic)
  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • Emergency Power (Kohler Power System)
  • Service system components as applicable per industry standards
  • Update program software as necessary for system improvements and repairs
  • Perform system operator assignments as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all system components.
  • Optimize all aspects of each system to improve efficiency.
  • Innovate technologies for system improvements.
  • Integrate systems for logistical effectiveness.
  • Update systems network security per company standards as necessary.
  • Conduct training for system operators.
  • Support any stadium engineering request as they arise.
  • Coordinate contractor support as necessary for system maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
  • Research to order parts and materials to help maintain the facility.

 

Educational Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completed degree in an engineering nor controls discipline is recommended

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Recommended but not required; State of Georgia, OSHA 10 certification, CPR certification, forklift certification, aerial working platform certification

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a BAS Controls or Facility Engineering.
  • Adherence to safety rules, procedures, and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and experience working with Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems, preferably with programming, configuration, visualization, and integrations. 5+ years’ experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems
  • Experience working with Metasys and Johnson Controls Legacy product line, preferred
  • Integration experience with low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e., LON, BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
  • Proficiency creating SCT databases, custom programs, schedules, trends, alarms, and programming modules.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend manuals, blueprints, sketches, and drawings.
  • Technologically skilled to understand and maintain work order documentation in the CMMS.
  • Must be available for approximately 75 % all events held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium including Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC soccer, concerts, etc.  Associates must be available for events on nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • This is a Full-time position requiring flexible schedules
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, meet tight deadline and function under stress.
  • Ability to stand, walk or walk up and down stairs throughout an event
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at high elevations
