JOB DESCRIPTION
We are excited to announce a new role with the Blue Jays - the Manager of Community Engagement and Marketing. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the Blue Jays brand within our community by spearheading advertising campaigns, engaging with the community and our corporate partners. You will lead the growth of our Dunedin Blue Jays brand while working closely with our Toronto counterparts to support our Spring Training initiatives and maintain a strong brand image in Florida.
Our goal is to increase awareness and recognition of our team, and ultimately attract more visitors to TD Ballpark.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, and partners to create community engagement programs aimed at boosting attendance at Dunedin Blue Jays and Toronto Blue Jays Spring Training games
  • Work with community groups and partners to maximize the Blue Jays presence within the community to advance brand likeness and produce effective community engagement
  • Participate in local community groups that will support and give back to our communities such as Chamber, Rotary Clubs or other worthwhile groups
  • Represent the Club by attending community events.
  • Engage in outreach and communication on behalf of the Dunedin Blue Jays ensuring timely communication
  • Develop a comprehensive social media strategy for the Dunedin Blue Jays, Manage the team's social media platforms, creating and engaging content that foster fan engagement.
  • Ensure that all engagement metrics for the Dunedin Blue Jays website and social media are being tracked accurately and consistently. Monitor social media and online platforms for trends, fan sentiment, and competitor activity.
  • Responsible for the creation and execution of effective marketing campaigns for the Dunedin Blue Jays from the beginning to end.
  • Oversee the graphic design and branding needs for the Dunedin Blue Jays
  • Liaison with the Toronto marketing team, including graphic designers, to support the creation of Spring Training collateral and fulfill other branding requirements at TD Ballpark.
  • Develop a calendar of local community driven events to boost brand awareness, build community partnerships and increase attendance to TD Ballpark
  • Develop strategic advertising and branding efforts for the Dunedin Blue Jays, in an effort to increase the team’s attendance and local team exposure.
  • Continuously assess various options for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising.
    Managing multiple contracted employees to perform the work of your department with an emphasis on coaching and development.
  • Oversight and management of the Dunedinbluejays.com.
  • Ensure the seamless execution of games and events at TD Ballpark on game day.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a related position, including previous experience in managing a diverse team of staff.
    University degree in a related field of study considered an asset, though an equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; demonstrates sensitivity and tact in interpersonal relations.
    Proven experience in identifying target audiences and in creatively devising and leading across channels marketing campaigns that engage, educate, and motivate.
  • Proven ability to network with community resources, build relationships and create community partnerships.
  • Proven track record with all relevant social media platforms.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including holidays, evenings and weekends as required.
  • Prior experience working in Sports preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics tools.
