SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

This is a newly created role as an HR Generalist based in Indianapolis, IN and will report to the VP of Human Resources in CA. As an HR generalist you will assist to plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the Company’s policies and activities ensuring legal and regulatory compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.

To be successful, you will need a solid and broad-based working knowledge of the following: compensation, recruitment, employment law, benefits, handling of disciplinary matters, disputes/investigations and health and safety programs to include worker’s compensation and OSHA. A background in training/development and familiarity with Affirmative Action programs is a plus. This position will require some travel to our nationwide race events as needed to provide on-site HR support

Qualifications/Key Accountabilities Needed

  • A related Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years professional experience in a generalist Human Resources position. Professional certification, such as SPHR or PHR is strongly preferred. Must have a strong knowledge of best HR practices.
  • Experience in a dynamic fast-paced organization to be able to participate in an “all hands on deck” office to maximize resources and work effectively across departments with strong project and time management skills.
  • Verifiable communication/collaboration/consultation skills to effectively work with all levels of management to build relationships across the organization so guidance and counsel can be provided at the earliest possible stages. Be comfortable talking with any stakeholder in any situation.
  • Values and considers the perspectives and backgrounds of all parties and can help people to understand and promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the organization.
  • Ability to flex and adjust priorities constantly, be comfortable with change, and able to work within lean budgetary constraints.
  • Demonstrated skills in creative thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolution.
