Overall Purpose:

The New Orleans Saints and Pelicans are seeking a Director of Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion (CD&I) to assist with the design, delivery, and communication for CD&I programs, policies, and guidelines. This self-motivated, creative individual will play an integral role in strengthening and improving current strategy and initiatives designed to support members of all communities in our workplaces. This role will focus on supporting employees from various backgrounds, and will be responsible for integrating and aligning the diversity and inclusion strategy with business goals and values, with an eye towards enhancing our organizational culture, brand, and reputation.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, communication, implementation, and follow-through of strategic CD&I initiatives across multiple business lines
  • Lead the CD&I Council, providing guidance on local, national, and global topics, and relay progress of the Council to the extended leadership team
  • Lead the development and evolution of inclusive networks and partner with external experts to advance our CD&I goals. Continuously look for inspiration from external CD&I practices and strategic partners
  • Work with departmental business leaders to define and establish CD&I standards and targets that align with their metrics for success and established strategic objectives, and ensure CD&I is coordinated into each department's business planning
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to build intentional talent identification, candidate pools, and hiring processes to lead to a stronger pipeline of diverse talent
  • Collaborate with HR to facilitate an inclusive recruiting process and further develop strategic recruiting and sourcing programs that not only strengthen our employer brand, but attract diverse talent communities in furtherance of our overall business goals and objectives
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, build and deliver employee training programs, such as unconscious bias, inclusive recruiting, everyday inclusion, to accelerate an inclusive leadership culture and improve upon the employee feedback process
  • Curate employee education and learning resources such as podcasts, articles, books, and talks
  • Form and maintain connections in the community and represent the organization as an ambassador of our brand, culture, and values, as needed.
  • Serve as a relationship connector and ongoing coordinator of network activity among community constituents, partners, and civic organizations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related discipline, or equivalent work or military experience, combined with education
  • 5+ years of experience and proven success in building, driving, leading, and implementing innovative and comprehensive CD&I strategies
  • Ability to build credibility and establish trust among coworkers and management
  • Ability to build strong and collaborative relationships with staff and communicate effectively with multiple audiences
  • Ability to prioritize and manage numerous projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, with ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written); strong public speaking, presentation, and group facilitation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed
