The Action Network is an exciting sports media business that builds products and creates content to inform and entertain the sports bettor. The sports betting and fantasy sports space is massive ($170bn in the US), growing and underserved from a product and content perspective, and we have the talent, domain expertise and passion to win the space.
 
We are looking for a hands-on data product manager to design and validate analytics implementations for Action’s websites and mobile apps. As Action’s digital measurement specialist, you will serve as a technical liaison between the product, engineering, and analytics teams. Data from the measurement solutions you architect will be leveraged to guide the growth and optimization of our digital products.   

Responsibilities

    • Architect and maintain tracking specs for web and mobile apps
    • Help product owners identify KPIs and success benchmarks 
    • Collaborate with project managers to plan and prioritize analytics implementation requests for upcoming sprints
    • Partner with developers to translate data requirements into efficient, scalable measurement solutions
    • QA analytics implementations to validate functionality and accuracy 
    • Continuously monitor and test product tracking for measurement breakdowns and data anomalies;  escalate issues as necessary to quickly restore coverage
    • Support A/B testing efforts across planning, execution, and analysis phases
    • Provide light ad-hoc reporting
    • Proactively surface surprising and informative insights 

Qualifications

    • Previous work experience as a data product manager, implementation manager, analyst, data engineer, or related position working with data in a technical capacity 
    • Experience using Charles Proxy (or similar HTTP debugging software) to QA tracking calls for web and mobile applications
    • Experience implementing tracking solutions for Segment.io (preferred), Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar Intermediate knowledge of SQL (Redshift/PostgreSQL)
    • Familiarity with Optimizely, LaunchDarkly, or similar A/B testing tools
    • Familiarity with AppsFlyer, Branch, or similar mobile attribution SDKs
    • Familiarity with JIRA (or similar project management/ticketing software)
