Position Summary: This position serves as in-house junior graphic designer, developing visual concepts for the Marketing department and any other internal department needing assistance, while maintaining the Lakers brand look and feel.

- Quality of graphics created
- Amount and timeliness of projects and jobs completed
- Satisfaction feedback from other internal departments
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):
- Create assets to be used on Lakers.com, social channels, and email
- Provide event support (e.g. invitations, signage)
- Design promotional material (e.g. posters, flyers, postcards, etc.)
- Serve needs of multiple departments while maintaining visual integrity of the brand
- Up to 50% of time spent on projects for Corporate Partnerships and Ticketing departments
- Assist with event photography (documenting, editing, and posting all aspects of Lakers and South Bay Lakers game days and other off-site events)
- Photograph select Lakers events (Community Relations, South Bay Lakers, etc.)
- Sourcing photography, retouching, and resizing when needed
- Assist with photo shoots, as needed
Education (Required/ Preferred): Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design/Fine Arts/Film/Media, or a related field (required)
Previous experience:
- A minimum of one to three (1-3) years working in graphic design
- Experience with photo editing and manipulation of graphics for sponsor mockups and marketing presentations
- Previous experience in social content creation, advertising, sports, or entertainment is preferred
Technology Capabilities:
- Adobe Creative Suite
- After Effects, Figma is a plus
- Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint & Windows)
- Canon photography equipment
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
- Highly organized, motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task under the pressure of deadlines
- Strong understanding of graphic design principles, methods and practices, as well as all phases of design, production, and delivery for web, electronic and print materials
- A fundamental understanding of layout, typography, and photography for print and web
- Knowledge of current design trends and best practices
- Knowledge of production for collateral including resolution, sizes and file types
- Ability to ensure consistent branding standards
- Ability to use production techniques such as color correcting and create clipping paths to prepare files
- Ability to give and take design direction
- Excellent grammatical, spelling, proofreading abilities
- Able to come up with original ideas for designs, as well as integrate ideas from others
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team
- Knowledge of basketball (preferred)
- Experience in event photography (preferred)
- Previous experience working with celebrities or professional sports players (preferred)
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift a min of 25lbs. and walk significant distances in arena on game days
Location: El Segundo, downtown Los Angeles (Crypto.com Arena for Laker home games), and other occasional off-site events
Travel: Less than 10% of time
Hours: Hybrid schedule, 2 days on-site. This position requires constant attention due to the continuous nature of the news cycle. Regular office hours (9am- 5:30pm M-F), must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays to complete deadlines as needed.
The pay for this role is $67,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications
