2K is looking for a Manager, Digital Community Marketing to be embedded within our Firaxis studio located in Sparks, Maryland. In this position, you are the voice of the community, and will work closely with both the Firaxis Development and 2K Global Marketing teams to define and serve community building and engagement, social ideation and strategy, and Influencer Engagement and Growth plans to our passionate players of the Civilization brand. Equal parts community engagement and social + creator strategy, you are a player advocate working collaboratively with both marketing and development teams to represent, ideate and execute global marketing initiatives, including the design of initiatives that build outreach and direct relationships with global communities and content creators for Civilization. Reporting to the Sr. Product Marketing Manager for Firaxis, the ideal candidate will be a gaming enthusiast with a passion for strategy games and Civilization.

This position will be based onsite 3 days/week at the Firaxis office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Monthly travel is required to the primary Firaxis Games studio location in Sparks, Maryland.

 What You’ll Do:

Digital Community Marketing:

  • As an embedded representative of the 2K marketing department within Firaxis Studio, contribute to the execution of the Global Marketing Plan for the Civilization brand by providing community, social, and creator insights and feedback to help further enhance the global marketing plans.
  • Partner with the development teams to champion the needs and wants of our communities and help improve our Civilization game experiences.
  • Create a feedback loop for the Civilization community and development team, and brainstorm ways to cross-leverage and promote our players and player needs, to the 2K Digital Community Marketing teams and Studio stakeholders.
  • Champion the Global Marketing Plan and Player Experience Vision during day-to-day interactions with the game development team.
  • Assist the marketing team with coordination and execution of various marketing requests of the development team.

Digital Community Growth Strategy (Social, Community, and Influencer focus):

  • Collaborate with 2K Marketing and Digital Community Marketing teams, and the studio, in defining the community growth strategies for our beloved Civilization players and the platforms where our experiences are featured.
  • Develop and execute against key Social, Community and Influencer programs that celebrate and promote our passionate Civilization fan base for the advocates that they are, stoking the core and incentivizing new fans to join and grow our communities.
  • Identify key creator + influencer opportunities to cross-leverage and grow as key contributors to overall growth initiatives.

 

What Will Make You a Great Fit:

  • You are passionate and like to collaborate with others and come up with creative and innovative ideas!
  • You have 3-6 years working in a comparable digital community building and/or social role within gaming, media or entertainment.
  • Outgoing, intellectually curious and can proactively reach out to people to build key relationships.
  • You are willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done.
  • You are highly organized, timely and communicative.
  • Extensive knowledge of core games, with specific knowledge of the strategy genre, Civilization brand, and Firaxis Games’ portfolio a plus.
  • Innate knowledge + experience with community building, management, social media and platform nuance, as well as creator and influencer ecosystem (especially TikTok, Reddit, Twitch, YouTube, Discord).
  • Knowledge of global streaming platforms and creative vision for how to leverage them for Firaxis Games.
  • You can aggregate, synthesize, and analyze data – and communicate key learnings cross-functionally.
