NBC Sports Next, an NBC Universal company, is hiring a Director, Strategic Growth Initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing strategic and medium-range initiatives, including strategic planning, M&A development and integration strategy, and strategic partnership implementations. This is primarily a project-based, consultative role best suited for individuals that enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, environment with executive exposure.

The ideal candidate will be an individual who is able to communicate well with all levels of management and effectively lead teams that will translate the needs of the business into strategic recommendations and solutions.

Director, Strategic Growth Initiatives Role & Responsibilities

• This is a unique opportunity to help lay the strategic and analytical foundation for growth within NBC Sports Next’s digital businesses
• Facilitates and where appropriate leads identification and evaluation of new business development opportunities including new markets, customers, products, categories, and paths to market, either through acquisitions, investments, licensing and or partnerships
• Partners with corporate development, marketing, finance, technology, and key business leaders to ensure clarity and alignment on M&A activities and integrations
• Develop strategies to be ahead of industry trends and create innovative offensive and defensive strategies that unlock future growth
• Own analyses (both one-off and weekly/monthly) that provide actionable insights into metrics, issues and opportunities
• Build clear and concise presentations that summarize your findings and lead to clear recommendations. The ability to translate findings into a strategic narrative is critical.
• This role can be based remotely, with travel required for meetings and to spend time in the field as necessary.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in business or relevant field; Master’s degree a plus.
• 7+ years of professional experience with a focus on strategy, private equity due diligence, and/or operational management; Relevant work experience a huge plus, ideally with M&A Operations work experience for a private equity firm, top consulting firm, or a large strategy department of a Fortune 100 firm
• Proven track record to recognize industry change, develop understanding of long-term implications, apply strategic and analytical thinking, and translate into actionable recommendations
• Problem-solving skills and aptitude, with significant experience framing up analyses independently
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment and build excellent rapport with internal teams; strong teamwork is a must
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in highly ambitious and fast-paced settings with minimal guidance and navigate competing priorities to drive initiatives to completion
• Attention to detail, excellent QA habits
• Interpersonal skills and ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise manner in both written and verbal presentations across all levels of management, proficient in PowerPoint
• Hands-on experience with a proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects or system implementations in a complex matrix business and operational environment
