This Role
 
Location: New York or Remote
 
Simplebet is in growth mode; we are looking to build out our Compliance and Regulatory Team, enabling our product deployment in all jurisdictions in the U.S. and abroad. Reporting to the General Counsel, the Licensing Manager will administer Simplebet’s global licensing program, working closely with key stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

    • Prepare and successfully submit applications to domestic and international regulators: Work directly with Executives and Board of Directors to draft and submit complex key person applications; Track U.S. regulatory landscape on state-by-state basis to ensure timely application under appropriate framework (e.g., Vendor, Supplier, etc.).
    • Maintain, monitor and update licensing status and compliance procedures in all jurisdictions: Respond to requests from gaming authorities in a timely, courteous and professional manner; Coordinate complex requests for production in connection with application investigations, adhering to deadlines and jurisdiction-specific regulations; Continuously research and update license issuance and renewal requirements for each jurisdiction; Manage databases of company, executive and employee information relevant to licensing program.
    • Prepare licensing program reports (e.g., pipeline, status, renewals, etc.) for Simplebet’s Leadership Team and Board of Directors: Communicate changes/updates to regulations to other team members within the licensing compliance department, management and employees.
    • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding employee information and company activities.
    • Perform other related duties as necessary, assisting with special projects or providing general administrative support.

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Law, Finance, Business or equivalent
    • 3-5 years of Legal, Compliance, Audit or Risk Management experience, preferably in a highly regulated industry.
    • Thorough understanding of legal terminology.
    • Aptitude for problem solving and finding alternative solutions.
    • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and excellent proof-reading skills.
    • Ability to work with a sense of urgency and accountability, and be both, a successful individual contributor and an effective team-player.
    • Ability to multi-task, monitor and meet regulatory deadlines, ensuring accuracy while managing multiple projects and prioritizing workload.
    • Experience with maintaining a database and preparing/presenting reports.
