About the Role

You will take a leading role around user acquisition efforts across the FOS newsletter network and the company’s ancillary products, overseeing a significant monthly growth budget. You will lead the Growth team and work closely with FOS leadership to achieve audience growth targets, iterate on past campaigns, establish A/B tests to drive newsletter audience engagement through a full-funnel marketing approach.

The ideal candidate is laser-focused on optimizing growth across social platforms and other channels and analytically minded with a deep knowledge around core acquisition metrics such as CAC and LTV, along with a solid understanding of churn rate and other retention metrics.

You can demonstrate a track record of driving user acquisition to free and paid media products, with experience across paid and organic channels. The ideal candidate should either have experience working on behalf of a newsletter publisher, or a deep, tactical knowledge of how newsletter publishers scale their audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize plans to allocate newsletter user acquisition budget across multiple digital channels
  • Utilize dashboards — and help create new dashboards — to provide weekly and monthly reporting on user acquisition efforts
  • Engage the FOS audience via contest-driven referral campaigns to drive new user acquisition 
  • Hire, onboard, and manage a Growth Coordinator by the end of Q2 2022
  • Ideate and execute creative/unconventional growth experiments with the goal of identifying new acquisition channels
  • Implement paid media elements of branded content partnerships for FOS advertising partners

Minimum Requirements

  • Multiple years of experience running paid growth for digital media, technology, or consumer businesses with six-figure monthly budgets.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter Ads, Google Ads, and other digital advertising platforms
  • Expert-level knowledge of conversion tracking metrics and platforms
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, particularly around the media and sports industries
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to help continue to build something new and fresh
  • The ability to multi-task and collaborate in a fast-paced environment and hyper-growth environment like a startup
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work and lead across departments when required
  • Experience with creative campaign planning and an ability to brainstorm unique growth opportunities outside of standard paid ad execution
  • Experience managing a team of marketing professionals
  • Effective communication, influence, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and adept problem-solving skills
  • Highly attentive to details, excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with scaled newsletter/email products
  • Experience or familiarity with Campaign Monitor, WordPress and Zapier
  • Skills in statistical modeling and forecasting, including churn analysis and LTV calculations
  • Familiarity and passion for sports and business
