Summary/Objective
The Senior Manager, Social Media is responsible for ensuring USA Football’s brand is well understood and represented on social channels. This leader will engage through conversations that connect our brand directly to our audience.
 
This individual will oversee social media contractors and potential future employees. They will contribute to the team by leading social media strategy and execution. The best candidate stays on top of the latest B2C and B2B social tactics, channels and tools and has an established history of creating plans and strategies while also executing day-to-day work.
 
The individual in this role will lead meetings, document processes and provide direction for our brand and potential staff social media accounts. They are self-motivated and will follow-up to get the answers they need to ensure we can deliver a great experience for the football marketplace.
 
They will also be looked at to help drive major storytelling and engagement efforts. They will lead the development of content coverage plans for our events, occasionally capture at events and help identify and help plan the capture of major story telling initiatives.

  • Define broad social media strategy for the organization, including audience segmentation, usage of brand accounts and creating SOPs for staff accounts
  • Refine, develop and execute social media strategies for individual products, programs, events and campaigns to support brand and sport growth
  • Create, curate, manage social media content, including text, audio, visual and multimedia formats on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Twitch
  • Comment and engage with the communities on social media beyond our owned channels
  • Track social media campaign key performance metrics to maximize results
  • Hire and manage social media contractors and potentially future personnel
  • Help lead storytelling initiatives from a social perspective and support capture opportunities (pre- and post-production) with video team
  • Make internal presentations to key stakeholders to earn approvals
  • Approve social media assets like videos and images through our project management tool (Wrike)
  • Maintain budget for storytelling, content capture and social media tools, including Sprout Social
  • Create, update and inform individuals on content calendar for social media
  • Support marketing and communications messaging needs and occasionally edit or provide written content
  • Support multimedia team efforts, including occasionally supporting video or photo capture opportunities beyond social
  • Update and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years in creative, marketing, social and/or branding role(s)
  • 5+ years leading social media efforts, ideally leading team(s)
  • 2+ years working with a project management tool, preferably Wrike
  • 3+ years of experience with tech tools such as MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud and similar, particularly photo and video editing tools
  • Ideally previous work with verified social media accounts
  • Experience leading social media strategy, tools (Sprout Social) and day-to-day execution
  • Comfort handling a wide product and event portfolio and with pivots
  • Accustomed to providing feedback to staff, including designers/videographers for social assets, and receiving it from leadership or other stakeholders
  • Organization skills including ability to handle high volume of detail-oriented work
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience maintaining a budget and reporting

Some travel will occur for this position.
