The Battle.net & Online Products E-commerce team handles millions of transactions spanning the globe for the StarCraft, Warcraft, Diablo and Overwatch franchises. Have you ever wondered what happens when you make a purchase in Hearthstone? Are you curious about what happens during a game launch where millions of customers unlock access to games, features, upgrades, and more? We're the team that provides the platform that powers all those features and more.

As a software engineer on the E-commerce Checkout team, you will join a group of engineers dedicated to building a global platform allowing our fans world-wide to experience Blizzard content. You will be a part of our continuing efforts to evolve our order acquisition and payment pipelines to keep up with an ever-changing commerce landscape. You will also be exposed to the inner-workings of the online and mobile payment spaces. In this role you will not only be writing code but taking the reins of projects across all phases of our SDLC.

Responsibilities

·        Design and implement new fullstack features for web, mobile, and in-game purchasing across all Blizzard titles

·        Collaborate with Design, Web Shop, Payments, Orders, Catalog and other teams to create a frictionless experience for our players

·        Partner with product managers and game engineering teams to enable new epic in-game commerce experiences

·        Implement and manage our deploy pipelines and server infrastructure

·        Monitor, debug, and improve several critical to business production services

·        Perform research to acquire new knowledge necessary to perform tasks and maintain a process of technological evolution

Requirements

·        A minimum of 5 years professional fullstack software engineering experience

·        A solid foundation in Java, C#, or another object-oriented language

·        Strong CS fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and design patterns

·        Experience with web services, messaging middleware, security, micro-services, and n-tier architectures

·        Familiarity with testing practices, including regression, acceptance, functional, and load testing

·        Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience

Extra Points

·        AWS experience (DynamoDB , Lambdas, ECS, S3, ELB, EC2), or equivalent Azure experience

·        Hands-on experience working with a Single Page Application framework such as React, Angular, or Vue

·        Practical knowledge of A/B testing tools and frameworks like Optimizely

·        Understanding of scalable and highly concurrent server architecture design

·        Experience with Docker or other container platforms

·        Passion for technology and video games

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $121,500.00 - $224,880.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
