The Account Director of Partnerships will play a pivotal role in supporting one of the agency’s largest accounts, Comcast, by bringing a well-thought, purposeful approach to partnership strategy and activation. The ideal candidate is an experienced sports marketer with strong partnership negotiation skills and a deep understanding of how to maximize partnerships to deepen consumer connections.

 

Team Description:

GMR Marketing currently Comcast’s sports and entertainment agency of record.  GMR currently supports Comcast with a variety of marketing efforts including; Partnership and Sponsorship Marketing, Sponsorship Creative, University Student Marketing, Business Services, Regional Programming, Retail, Mobile Tours, Experiential Campaigns and Employee Engagement.  Comcast is a top-25 sports sponsor in the United States with more than 50 properties in its portfolio including NASCAR, the USOPC, FaZe Clan, PGA Tour, and numerous team relationships across the major pro sports leagues (MLB, NFL, NBA, and NHL).

 

YOUR IMPACT //

  • Lead Comcast’s Divisional partnership strategy & activation team inclusive of:
    • Partnership identification, selection and negotiation;
    • Portfolio diversification and/or evolution;
    • Creative activation platforms; and
    • Brand strategy alignment
  • Leverage data analytics and key research while advancing asset valuation processes and measurements to deliver asset evaluations and agency POVs of existing and potential partnership proposals
  • Ensure partnership investments work harder across the marketing mix and in support of our clients’ business goals.
  • Support and lead, where required, client initiatives that strengthen our partnership consulting services such as but not limited to:
    • valuation and measurement of partnerships that contribute towards business progress;
    • diverse audience research, data and insights;
    • media and integrated marketing solutions;
    • athlete and talent partnerships
  • Foster relationships with partners and organizations that enhance Comcast’s partnership innovation goals and opportunities
  • Enhance client and team knowledge of sports marketing and current trends/innovations through purposeful thought-leadership, while analyzing related partnership approaches from competitors.

WHAT WE NEED //

  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in related sports or entertainment agency or property
  • Strong relationship building skills with ability to manage multiple client contacts and projects simultaneously
  • Results-oriented, self-starter with growth mindset who approaches ambiguity with ambition
  • Demonstrates high initiative, independent focus, and overall work ethic
  • Ability to prioritize and organize complex details of multiple programs while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to assess and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations
  • Ability to develop creative ideas and inspire efforts of others to bring forward the best ideas and solutions
  • Well-developed brand and consumer marketing instincts across several industries
  • Deep understanding of the global and domestic sports, entertainment, esports and Talent industries
  • Ability to evaluate, negotiate and activate sponsorships/marketing alliances
  • Ability to develop and manage senior-level decision-maker, client relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong presentation skills to varied audiences
  • Experience developing, pitching and on-boarding new business or partnerships
  • Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills
  • Exceptional production of high-quality work
  • Ability to travel as needed
