Description

Become a part of the team behind the team.

As employees of the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter, we do more than basketball. We bring people together to create extraordinary moments and lasting memories through the power of sports and entertainment. We are pioneers and innovators. We look for people who push boundaries, who dream, who are committed to inclusivity – who want to contribute to Rip City!

As our Senior Event Manager, Special Events, you are responsible for researching and securing venues, planning, and running the events calendar, negotiating quotes and agreements with vendors, supervising timeframes and budgets, delivering on event objectives, and running the Special Events team. You will ensure successful event delivery from conception to post-event evaluation for yourself and your team across all events.

Our ideal candidate is someone who excels in leading multiple events concurrently, thriving under tight deadlines. We’re looking for exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and staff. Finally, we’re looking for someone who is service-oriented and has a keen eye for detail, ensuring the successful execution of events that meet clients’ needs and expectations. If this sounds like you, apply by February 16, 2024 at 5pm Pacific Time.

  • Serve as the lead liaison with all vendors and partners, building and developing these relationships into partnerships for future events.
  • Work closely with department leaders to be responsible for the financial success of events by creating and managing annual event budgets. Track expenses, prepare financial reports, and provide regular updates to collaborators.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and trends and annually participate in training and continuing education. Find opportunities for cross-department collaboration to improve events, offset costs, or recognize mutual benefits.

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

  • Problem-solving: A creative problem solver who can quickly adapt to unexpected changes and find solutions to challenges that arise during events.
  • Detail Oriented: Able to supervise all aspects of an event, from start to finish, to ensure that everything runs efficiently.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks optimally to ensure that events are delivered on time and within budget.
