Summary / Objective

This role will be focused on helping shape and articulate the strategic direction and growth of the NFL’s international business as well as develop, assess, and lead new initiatives across all lines of the business.  This position will also be responsible for leading the NFL’s Global Markets Program working directly with Clubs and the NFL international offices in Canada, China, Mexico, Germany, Australia and the United Kingdom to grow football fandom and game affinity. 

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and execute strategies to deliver long-term strategic value for the League in international markets based on a deep understanding of fan needs and market trends.
  • Establish and use detailed data-informed analysis and insights to define specific market-entry and growth strategies and facilitate cross-departmental execution.
  • Support the MD, International and the international leadership team in the development of annual business plans, long-range planning and League and Club focused communication.
  • Lead and manage Global Markets Program granting NFL clubs access to certain international territories for marketing, fan engagement and commercialization. In doing so, help set success parameters for the program, provide overall project management; facilitate collaborations across the League office, Clubs and NFL territory offices; Support club activations in key markets; and drive analytics and reporting for the initiative.
  • Provide strategic oversight, support, and business evaluations for other international functions, for example international sponsorship, marketing and consumer products.
  • Identify growth and white-space opportunities. Research, design, develop and recommend new concepts and solutions across NFL International focusing on impact and bigger bet ideas. 
  • Work closely with other NFL departments on joint projects & initiatives.

Required Education and Experience

  • 5-10 years’ experience in growing international sports business and/or strategic management consulting, preferably with experience in market-entry and growth initiatives across the international sector. 
  • Experience in successfully leading cross-functional teams to deliver on key goals in a partnership structure/multi-dimensional business model. 
  • Strong fundamentals in quantitative and qualitative analysis, data-driven strategic planning and project/program management 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Understanding international business dynamics and high-level of culture awareness
  • Working across multi-national stakeholders, external partners and languages

Travel

  • Position requires international travel – up to 30% 

Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. Indicate whether or not the role will require overtime (time worked in excess of 40 hours) and/or weekends. Note* If your position will work under 30 hours per week, they should be Part Time. FLSA** If an employee will be paid hourly, they will be non-exempt, and if they are paid a salary, they are exempt.
