Position Overview

We are looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join our Hornets Sports & Entertainment (HSE) Creative team. The HSE Creative team is comprised of brand-focused thought leaders and problem solvers who uphold and evolve the HSE brand. The team brings creativity, quality, and aesthetics to projects such as seasonal, sales, and marketing campaigns, brand development, partnership presentations and mockups, and arena marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with the Senior Director of Creative and Art Director to develop comprehensive campaigns and toolkits supporting all HSE properties (Charlotte Hornets, Greensboro Swarm, Hornets Venom GT, and Spectrum Center).
• Deliver brand-aligned creative assets, including apparel, digital, grand-format signage, print, etc., to support business goals of Sales, Marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility, Arena Marketing and Human Resources.
• Work closely with Corporate Partnerships to develop presentations and mockups in support of retaining existing partners and establishing new business.
• Engage in cross-departmental collaboration with Animation, Digital, and Video departments to drive campaigns and storylines as well as visual consistency.
• Work closely with the creative project management team to ensure creative requests meet business goals and are completed on time, while helping streamline the creative process.
• Uphold brand standards with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent brand presence across all platforms and mediums.
• Awareness of best practices and design trends in sports and other relevant industries.
• Contribute to the development of team members to ensure familiarity with HSE brand standards, creative request processes, and design techniques.
• Establish positive working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure
  cross-departmental collaboration throughout the organization.
• Embrace collaboration and organizational goals and initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.

Required Skills, Experience and Abilities

To perform the job successfully, you will demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design with at least five years of design and advertising experience within the sports, entertainment, or advertising industry
• Detailed understanding of design principles, functionality, hierarchy, layout,
  and typography
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills to connect with your team, across HSE, and with external clients promptly and thoroughly.
• Knowledge of NBA basketball is required, Hornets Basketball is preferred.
• Hold advanced knowledge of graphic design software in a MAC environment and be skilled in: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and PowerPoint Knowledge of motion graphics is a plus.
• Possess the ability to problem solve and think independently from concept exploration to product delivery across a variety of mediums.
• Must be adaptable to change, conscientious about delivery deadlines, detail-oriented, and able to navigate priorities to achieve business objectives.
• Able to perform in an environment with a high volume and frequency of creative requests.
• Must have an awareness of industry trends related to sport, design, fashion, marketing, experiential branding, photography, and social media.
• Must professionally present oneself and be capable of interacting with all levels of the organization.
• Available to work a variable schedule, including holidays, nights, weekends, and game nights when required
• Willingness and ability to provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination required. All religious, medical, or other legally recognized exemptions regarding vaccination status will be considered
