THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Head of Brand Marketing will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness and engagement, while ensuring a consistent brand message across all marketing channels. This role will lead the development of the brand vision, strategies, architecture, and roadmap across sports verticals. Additionally, the Head of Brand Marketing will implement best-practice approaches for strategizing, planning, executing, optimizing, and measuring branded marketing campaigns, setting the brand tone for FloSports.

We are looking for a candidate who excels in storytelling and creative thinking, capable of showcasing the stories of our underserved sports through advertising, brand strategy, digital engagement, and product development. As a member of the marketing leadership team, internal stakeholders will rely on you to own a data-driven, customer-centric re-branding of FloSports with the aim of effectively engaging and retaining our subscribers. In this role, you will collaborate extensively with Integrated, Growth, Lifecycle, Partner Marketing, and Content teams, who will support you in delivering the campaign strategy and brand vision to the market.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Brand Management: Leverage customer insights to develop a cross vertical brand strategy that is aligned with FloSports mission and vision. Partner with the Growth function to execute brand awareness programs leveraging channels including paid and organic media, partner marketing, PR and more. Partner with the Lifecycle function to ensure that brand positioning and messaging extends through the subscriber journey. 
    • Storytelling: Establish and strengthen authentic connections with diverse audiences by sharing compelling stories about our sports, athletes, leagues, and teams. These stories should motivate our consumers and reflect the essence of the FloSports brand. Gather insights about current and upcoming events, and foster long-term relationships between fans, athletes, and FloSports.
    • Creative Design: Drive creative concepts and big ideas in partnership with our Creative Director and achieve creative excellence in every part of the storytelling journey: creative concepts, executions, writing, etc. Oversee copywriters in their delivery of outstanding writing, with results that include headlines and body copy for out-of-home, digital channels, and other consumer-facing creative work. 
    • Social & Influencer Marketing: Partner with the Social team to oversee the representation of FloSports across various verticals on social media, including brand sentiment tracking and analysis. This includes managing concepts, captions, and reactive efforts. Oversee the Influencer Marketing function and assist in its expansion. Collaborate with internal partners to contribute to brand and seasonal strategy development, as well as product positioning.
    • PR: Generate story ideas and multimedia assets to creatively engage online audiences of diverse backgrounds. Assist in the development and execution of comprehensive publicity campaigns for our portfolio of underrepresented sports, with support from our PR agency. Foster and maintain relationships with key media professionals across different fields, such as television, business, sports, trades, and non-traditional media platforms (blogs, social media, and influencers). Develop a comprehensive crisis communication plan to protect the brand's reputation.
    • On-site Activation: Coordinate and execute site activation strategies for event marketing, ensuring seamless execution of on-site experiences, activations, and sponsor integrations to enhance attendee engagement and brand visibility.
    • Team Leadership: Lead a team of brand and influencer marketers, which includes conducting performance assessments, creating development plans, providing coaching, and making future hiring decisions. Utilize your extensive background in brand strategy and experience to mentor your team on storytelling and communication techniques, with the goal of enhancing awareness of the FloSports brands.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • 10+ years marketing experience in brand management within a streaming and/or sports company.
  • 5+ years of experience as a team lead or people manager, helping prioritize, motivate, and deliver results.
  • Deep understanding of creating, executing, and measuring creative brand marketing strategies to drive profitable growth.
  • Ability to thrive in matrixed, multi-vertical companies involves bringing out the best in teams across an organization.
  • Proven track record of successfully collaborating with internal business partners, including Design, Content, and Data Analytics teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently present and speak in front of senior leaders.
  • Subject matter expertise across a variety of marketing channels (organic media, OTT, events, etc.) is a plus
  • MS/MBA degree in Marketing, Brand Management, Communications or related field is a plus
