Position Overview:  

A Database Developer II in the Technology Services organization will be responsible for supporting, building, and enhancing our database environments, Enterprise Data Warehouse, and Business Intelligence and Reporting Platforms. They will work with internal and external stakeholders to manage, expand and improve our Data Warehouse and analytic capabilities with administration, ETL and development while following best practices about performance and security.

Major responsibilities: 

  • Manages all aspects of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Databases, and Business Intelligence environment working closely with analysts to provide data automation, ETL, and data development services  

  • Verifies program performance specifications with users and keeps them informed about problems in production support; proposes unique solutions that improve function and performance  

  • Participates in the design, construction, and implementation of operational DBMS, data stores, data warehouses, and data marts that enable informational, analytical management inquiry; develops processes to increase reliability, integrity, and availability of cross platform data access  

  • Develop automations around ingestion and output between the various data systems and products. 

  • Implements new data technologies and releases; assists in evaluation of database tools that will increase database performance/efficiency

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical problems

  • Participates and assists business analysts with the creation of reports, report automation and hosting of online BI systems.  

  • Keeps abreast of new and future data and analytics technologies  

  • Serves in an on-call roll and performs game day duties on a rotational basis  

  • Additional duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics degree or related technical field preferred. 

  • 3-5 years of work experience of relevant database and application development experience.  

  • Strong knowledge of Cloud Data Warehousing, Data Modeling, Reporting, and other SQL concepts. 

  • Experience with data analytics the platforms; BigQuery and Snowflake 

  • Knowledge of different programing concepts and languages, such as Python, R, Node, C#, etc. 

  • Candidate should have strong communication, organization, project management, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Strong customer facing skills and ability to manage multiple challenging projects simultaneously 

  • Customer first, service-oriented mindset 

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills 

  • Team player who demonstrates flexibility and enthusiasm in attitude and approach. 

  • Must complete a successful background check 

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience Managing/Administrating Microsoft SQL Servers, including performance, query tuning, debugging. 

  • Experience building backend applications. 

  • Experience with GCP Cloud run and IAM permissions
