The University of Miami, Athletics Department, has a great opportunity for a Director, Digital Strategy to work at the Coral Gables Campus.

 

The Director, Digital Strategy will oversee the development, execution and implementation of digital communications for Miami Hurricanes Men’s Basketball through social media content, website management, social analytics, photo/video management and other digital projects.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for Hurricanes Men’s Basketball social media and assist with Hurricanes Football digital duties.
  • Ideate, develop, execute and implement content strategies specific to all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube) and website in tandem with the Assistant AD, Digital & Brand Strategy.
  • Engage in day-to-day activities related to Hurricanes Men’s Basketball that include the following but are not limited to photography, videography, graphic design, project management and strategizing content plans for social media.
  • Lead and organize basketball creative meetings and/or other meetings on a regular basis to help drive content and strategy for both social media and recruiting content.
  • Help establish a consistent visual image and brand identity throughout all basketball digital platforms.
  • Strategize and implement a basketball gameday social media plan involving all necessary parties within the external department.
  • Ensure distribution is top of mind for all platforms and mediums to achieve successful delivery to constituents.
  • Continue to develop and refine distribution strategies to drive clicks to miamihurricanes.com.
  • Work with Assistant AD, Digital & Brand Strategy on distributing sales content to meet revenue goals. 
  • Help assess and analyze social media metrics to help make decisions concerning content and strategy.
  • Oversee YouTube content and growth strategies.
  • Serve as the liaison for Opendorse platform with both current and former men’s basketball student-athletes
  • Present and educate on NIL to recruits on official visits
  • Assist in the management of the departments video and photography storage solutions.
  • Stay current on industry trends and platform updates.
  • Serve as the digital liaison for men’s basketball student-athletes for issues with social media account access, hacks, etc.
  • Work with Assistant AD, Digital & Brand Strategy to find student interns who can execute digital strategy duties.
  • Continue to help develop Miami Hurricanes TikTok, finding latest trends, executing content and ensuring growth of the robust platform.
  • If required, assist SIDs of Olympic sports with digital strategy and event coverage.
  • Maintain compliance with NCAA, ACC Conference, institutional, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Assistant AD, Digital & Brand Strategy

 

Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

 

Work Experience Requirements (Essential Requirements):

  • Two to four years of experience
