THE ROLE:

FloSports’ Director of Social Media (Content) will play an instrumental role in the establishment of a cohesive social media strategy and execution roadmap across FloSport verticals. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Integrating best practices (media types, timing, cadence, et al) for promotion of FloSports content and community engagement across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube
  • Effectively and efficiently managing a mix of full-time employees and contractors that supports our primary sport verticals, pushes on new content distribution initiatives and drives significant traffic to FloSports verticals
  • Working through each vertical to implement a winning strategy and execution plan based on available resources
  • Owning the vision and process for creating platform-specific content that maximizes engagement and monetization
  • Leveraging content calendar structure to plan and communicate – inside and outside of the editorial group – how we approach seasons and tentpole events
  • Working across FloSports teams to leverage resources/opportunities in films, design, operations, partnerships, marketing, et al., while also communicating needs and pain points
  • Building a robust and automated social media reporting framework to establish benchmarks and report success; continuous cycle of learning and improvements
  • Collaborating with our Integrated Partnerships team on new business pitches and RFPs and execution of deliverables
  • Working jointly with Marketing to maintain relationships with platform representatives, shape community moderation standards and guide the tool selection process

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in communications, journalism, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the social media space, with at least 4 years as a manager/leader
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing a successful social media strategy across a content team or teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of social media platforms, their unique audiences and how to use them to maximize engagement efforts
  • In depth knowledge of social media tools, with opinions on which ones FloSports might choose to implement
  • Experience with people management as the role will manage a cross-functional team
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Demonstrated change leader who collaborates and communicates effectively
  • Sharing learnings and elements from content-specific campaigns that could aid marketing goals
  • Cooperatively assessing opportunities in TikTok and future emerging platforms
  • In tandem with marketing peers, providing counsel to stakeholders to adopt best-in-class social media practices, to adhere to brand guidelines and to help achieve business objectives
  • Intake and implementation of learnings/data shared by marketing team
  • Co-owning goals with marketing department – from creation to execution – around monetization, engagement and account growth
