As a Legal Director, Marketing, you’ll lead our collaborative effort to provide legal support and coordinate with other internal functions to ensure our business aligns to and is in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Your team will collaborate with key business stakeholders to ideate, review, and approve all promotional and creative marketing assets while working to anticipate risks and potential challenges.
Liaise between business units and regulators related to all promotions and creative across all product verticals and evaluate and resolve any marketing and promotional offer issues.
Provide support to the Marketing, Product, and Compliance Teams on the interpretation of regulatory requirements.
Draft and review terms for consumer facing promotions across multiple verticals.
Regularly evaluate the user-facing aspects of the company’s product offerings in light of legal and regulatory requirements.
Advise clients on advertising materials and commercial messaging to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and voluntary industry guidelines.
Gain deep knowledge and understanding of daily fantasy sports, sports betting, and iGaming laws and regulations.
Manage and direct a team of legal professionals through prioritization of projects, operating procedures, and risk assessments.
At least 10 years of legal experience, preferably in-house and focused on supporting a consumer brand or product.
Experience leading and developing a team of legal professionals is preferred.
Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited institution with excellent academic credentials.
Knowledge of domestic and international laws and regulations governing consumer protection, intellectual property law (e.g., copyright and trademark), advertising and marketing law, and social media legal issues.
Proven and demonstrated experience managing and negotiating high-stakes, nuanced matters.
Genuine desire to learn and adapt to an in-house legal environment in a technology-driven growth stage company.
Outstanding written and oral skills with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to consider different legal perspectives and suggest practical solutions to complex problems.
