The Social Media Content Producer for the Detroit Lions will be responsible for creating content for the club’s social media accounts. The producer will also help execute the team’s social media strategy, increase fan engagement and expand the reach of the brand across all social platforms. The ideal candidate will have video production experience along with a background working in social media.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (including, but not limited to):
Coordinate the club’s social media accounts on a day-to-day basis – including content creation and execution
Create engaging video content formatted for social media platforms
Provide coverage of games, events, and community/business initiatives
Maintain the voice and brand persona of the Detroit Lions online
Develop content related to current events and trending topics as relevant to the brand
Monitor fan sentiment and identify ways to increase reach and engagement
Develop original social video content for both avid and casual fans, as well as other market segments
Help coordinate video content trafficking and distribution across social media platforms
Identify emerging social media platforms and opportunities

Maintain an appropriate level of knowledge of social media tools and software being used
Participate in team meetings, providing input and suggestions related to New Media and other areas as needed; will make recommendations for processes and procedures

Maintain professionalism when communicating with internal and external contacts
Must be accurate and efficient with ability to meet deadlines
Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Adjust work schedule to meet departmental demands
Understanding of data sensitivity and the need to keep appropriate information confidential
Accept other responsibilities and duties required by the supervisor consistent with theobjectives and essential functions of this position. Such responsibilities shall be incorporatedinto the position description if they are ongoing
Advise supervisor if actual practice (activity) begins to deviate significantly from specified essential functions
LICENSING or CERTIFICATIONS:
A valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required; preferred areas of study include digital media, video production, social media/web management, or communications
2+ years of professional level experience creating social media content preferred
Knowledgeable about the latest technology and social media trends and tools
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
Excellent computer, graphic design and video editing skills including Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere
Possess a working knowledge of and passion for football
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as club schedule directs
Maintain professionalism when speaking with athletes and coaches in both a work setting and within the context of an interview
