ROLE SPECIFICS:
The Premier Lacrosse League is seeking a Director, Partnership Activation to lead the management, implementation, and development of impactful marketing and media platforms for PLL partners. The candidate will be required to work across the PLL portfolio of sponsors on a daily basis to drive key marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate must be an expert at managing partner deliverables as well as focus on the ability to retain and expand our existing partners. This role is highly collaborative across the organization and the candidate must be experienced at lateral management between different departments. This role is based in New York, NY.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ownership of Tier A account portfolio across various categories
    • Execute details of partnership activations across all platforms
    • Build positive relationships with cross-functional Director, VP-level partners
    • Run a set of weekly update calls, focused on accounts with moderate complexity, including endemic brands
    • Present delivery reports to partners and effectively communicate data-driven performance metrics
    • Lead account renewals: strategy, presentation, negotiation, and deal closing
    • Develop new ideas that deliver against partner marketing objectives and drive revenue growth
      • Support PLL charitable efforts with existing/renewal accounts (G4G, Assists)
    • Maintain expert level knowledge of partner marketing objectives, both with the PLL and with competitors
    • Team lead for select strategic projects (broadcast liaison, hospitality/VIP events, on-site activation, etc.)
    • Travel regularly to PLL events and ensure proper execution of on-site activations
      • Oversee and coordinate event hospitality, including ticketing, VIP services, and catering (support Manager who owns hospitality strategic project)
      • Plan and execute VIP partner events, including annual partner summit
    • Expand network throughout partner marketing org, including senior level decision makers
      • Clear execution with organizational peers as directed
  • Hire and manage talent that may include Sr. Acct. Mgrs, Acct. Mgrs., and Coordinators
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 6+ years of experience in the field leading sports marketing / activation teams
  • Outstanding relationship builder with well-developed leadership skills
    • High quality verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience pitching, negotiating, and closing sponsorship agreements
    • Knowledge of how to interpret contract language and partnering with legal teams to structure new agreements
  • Deep understanding of the sports sponsorship landscape
  • Strategic thinker that can manage both short term and long term projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable interacting with external parties/partners on a day-to-day basis
  • Strong organization skills to track partnership asset fulfillment
  • Regular user of CRM, spreadsheet, word processing, and project management tools

 COMPENSATION:
  • Based on the candidate’s experience, seniority, and location
  • $100,000- $107,500 base salary
    • The total compensation package includes Commissionable Sales with competitive commission structure, Health, Life, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) plan, Equity Sharing, Mental Health Stipend, Unlimited PTO, and Paid Parental Leave
