About the XFL 

Launching in February 2023, the XFL is a fan-first, fast-paced global professional football league featuring innovative rules and an enhanced 360-view game experience.  Led by owners Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and Gerry Cardinale's RedBird Capital Partners, the XFL will bring entertainment to world-class football with the goal of advancing the game and expanding player opportunities.

 

About the Position

The Product Manager will play an integral role in shaping the next generation of digital products that fans use to engage with the XFL and its teams. This person will have a deep understanding of current industry trends and have a vision to enhance the fan experience through a range of digital platforms.

 

This person will sit at the intersection of internal stakeholders and our external partners, working collaboratively to propose product solutions based on requirements, help guide design, define product roadmaps and ensure our products are built with the appropriate mix of features to connect with fans and create a rich user experience. This role will primarily have oversight of our football data collection solution, which serves as the foundation of all football data used to support the league, its partners and our fans. Additionally, this person will be critical to evolving the entire XFL digital portfolio into an industry-leader, supporting a range of strategic initiatives, including websites, apps, video and emerging technologies.

 

What You Will Do

 

  • Work cross-functionally to build, launch, and evolve the XFL’s digital products, delivering a best-in-class fan experience.

  • Gain a deep understanding of our users, their personas and how they engage with our digital products, making recommendations on how to constantly improve their experience and engage them with new features and functionality.

  • Collaborate with third-party agencies and vendors to assess feature and product opportunities, create and share mock-ups, flows and wireframes, and drive prioritization for new initiatives and features to establish a product roadmap and strategy.

  • Communicate product needs, roadmaps, and work plans to internal and external stakeholders, through the collection and creation of functional specifications, business requirements, user stories, and data analysis.

  • Effectively support the product design, engineering, and QA teams of our vendors throughout sprint cycles by proactively removing roadblocks and helping prioritize work based feedback, analytics and business objectives

  • Ensure we implement and gather relevant metrics on users, constantly analyzing information that informs strategic decision-making and inspires feature recommendations.

  • Stay constantly aware of an evolving competitive market and evangelize trends in the sports and entertainment technology landscape.

  • Advocate our digital products and ongoing vision to every level of the organization, providing meaningful insights to stakeholders and bringing value to the business.

 

What You Will Bring 

  • 3-5 years digital product experience in either the sports, technology or entertainment industry with a proven track record of success owning product launches and lifecycles.

  • A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.

  • A history of building relationships across a wide range of professional disciplines, with an ability to build trust and consensus across teams, including technology, sales, marketing and research.

  • Exceptionally organized and detail-driven, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Comprehensive understanding of sports data, preferably football, including but not limited to game statistics, season statistics, team and player statistics, advanced statistics. Familiarity with data collection and distribution methods is a plus.

  • Experience identifying and owning partnership and vendor relationships.

  • An entrepreneurial approach with a consistent curiosity and eagerness to improve the experience fans have when they engage with the XFL’s digital products.

  • Confidence and polish interacting with all business levels, including experience translating and presenting complex ideas effectively.

  • Familiarity with analytics and product insights tools is a plus.

Additional Details 

  • This role is based in Arlington,Texas.

  • May include attending select games and events in XFL team markets.

  • Minimal Travel (<10% travel). 

  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends and some holidays is required

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
