Report to Vice President of Global Events on experiential event and marketing initiatives, that deliver creative solutions that foster lasting and impactful relationships and experiences globally.

Essential Functions

  • Direct MLB’s Global Events Experiential vertical by extending and creating opportunities that bring organizational cultural touch points and brand presence to new partnership event opportunities and existing MLB events
  • Oversee development of experiential extensions of MLB Life and other Brand Partnership priorities at events, including food, music, fashion and gaming
  • Lead development of surrounding experiential programming at large-scale league initiatives and events, including World Baseball Classic, All-Star Week, MLB’s World Tour and other events as directed
  • Prospect and develop partner event opportunities that align with larger Marketing Brand & Experiential goals
  • Develop and provide experiential briefs to ensure proper content and collateral is provided for event planning, marketing coordination and enterprise wide-support
  • Identify and leverage new and emerging technologies in the experiential space that provide meaningful and unique opportunities to further grow priority areas of organizational marketing and event goals
  • Take a leadership role and contribute to the development of future event game sites and locations through viability and research studies
  • Direct the implementation of event planning, logistics, and execution of experiential events
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting of all experiential cost centers and inputs
  • Create cross-functional team across Global Events and Brand Partnership team to provide regular feedback and engagement on area priorities and linkage to unified department goals
  • Directs agency and vendor relationships, including development of on-site exhibits/activations, and general program planning

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 7-10 years of experiential event experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience in Marketing, Events, and Experiential categories preferred.
  • Strong communication skills – including the ability to listen; needs to effectively communicate vision and objectives to a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Excellent collaboration skills that can work across multiple departments and personalities
  • Excellent organization, communication, writing and multi-tasking skills
    Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong execution, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent and professional interpersonal skills; team-oriented demeanor
  • Excellent computer aptitude and advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive, Concur, and willingness to learn company programs and electronic business tools.
  • Ability to perform duties while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
  • Available to work varied hours and extensive travel
  • Location: NYC office

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000.

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision. In addition to your salary, MLB believes in providing a competitive compensation and benefits package for its employees.
