Position Summary:
New Orleans is a passionate sports city. The New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans are looking for an ambitious, highly organized marketing manager to tap into that passion. Help us align product, message, channel and audience … and you’ll literally hear the roar of the crowd growing louder. We’ve got big goals. And your primary focus, overseeing both team’s robust email marketing programs, will play a critical part in helping us achieve them. This position reports to the Director of Digital Marketing and works collaboratively with the Marketing, Ticket Sales & Service, Corporate Partnerships and Business Intelligence teams.

What you will be doing:

  • Collaborating with the Director of Digital Marketing on the strategy and execution of the Saints and Pelicans email marketing programs
  • Building and socializing the email marketing calendar(s) with input from the Marketing, Ticket Sales & Service and Corporate Partnerships teams
  • Developing a deep understanding of what makes our audience tick so we can connect right product to the right person at the right time
  • Analyzing the impact of email marketing on fan engagement and ticket sales
  • Establishing a testing protocol with the goal of consistently improving OR, CLTR and CTO
  • Establishing a deliverability strategy to ensure we’re staying out of the junk box
  • Developing skills in Marketo, our digital marketing automation tool, and proactively seeking out smarter, faster ways to execute our email marketing programs
  • Honing your email marketing subject matter expertise by keeping abreast of the latest trends, tools and tactics.
  • Developing a deep understanding for the business of sports and the behavior of sports fans.

What you’ll bring: 

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with email marketing and a proven understanding of email marketing best practices
  • High level of proficiency with Marketo or other marketing automation platforms (Exact Target, Pardot, Hubspot, Epsilon, Eloqua)
  • Excellent understanding of email design and comfort with basic photo/graphic editing
  • Relevant knowledge of HTML/CSS, so you can test, tweak and enhance our custom email templates
  • Basic SQL skills (for the purposes of personalization) a definite plus
  • Solid writing skills, for both communicating internally or to an avid fan
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities within an extremely fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Keen attention to detail and proactive approach to troubleshooting
