JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Manager of Analytics supports the SVP of Strategy and his direct reports, combining strategy, business intelligence, advanced analytics, project management and operational support.

The Manager of Analytics will be a key member of the Strategy & Analytics team, serving in an enterprise-wide, cross-functional role, focused on modeling, data insights & visualizations, decision-making analysis, deal structuring support, and related matters to drive day-to-day operational decision making/performance, and longer-term initiatives. The role encompasses: (i) business development strategy; (ii) project management; and (iii) applied analytics when and where needed to assist the SVP of Strategy and other department heads.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Develop and elevate business intelligence capabilities to include high-quality data visualizations and actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with lines of business and complete data exploration to identify trends that enable the organization to improve revenue streams and optimize process.
  • Clearly articulate findings and present recommendations to departments.
  • Deliver a broad range of functional responsibilities critical to Business Operations: forecasting, reporting, and data visualization; predictive analytics/modeling, lead soring, and retention strategy; pricing strategy development; customer research and segmentation; and merchandise analytics.
  • Serve as cross-functional resource to business teams to help support the development of analytics and go-to-market strategy(ies) for growth initiatives.
  • In collaboration with the finance team, prepare complex financial models, sensitivity analyses, valuations, and other analysis, for presentations to management, ownership, partners, and clients.
  • Determine financial viability and synergistic impact of new business opportunities through rigorous quantitative analysis (new products, partnerships, joint ventures, etc.).

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4-6 years of experience in a relevant role, such as management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or big data/machine learning; and/or the aforementioned experience combined with experience with a sport, entertainment and/or media/content business.
  • Advanced capabilities with analytical tools such as Python, R, SQL, Google Analytics, Power BI, etc.
  • Strong analytic and strategic thinking skills, backed by deep knowledge of finance, valuation, accounting, and financial modeling (Excel), and ability to effectively communicate through compelling presentations (PowerPoint), data visualizations, etc.
  • Passion and knowledge about the business side of traditional & emerging media & entertainment, music, sports, and consumer lifestyle sectors.
  • Ability to solve problems with limited information and amid changing circumstances. Hypotheses driven and comfortable with ambiguity. Ability to logically break down approach and assumptions.
  • Experience developing compelling business cases and presentations. Excellent oral and written communication & presentation skills.
  • Team player, proactive, results-oriented, problem-solver, strategic thinker, highly organized, flexible, and strong analytical skills. Willingness to roll up sleeves and help as needed to advance the business.
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative work style to work across multiple business teams to efficiently drive results and impact. Deadline-driven, organized, and able to multi-task.
  • Ability to work in a team and on a standalone basis. Ability to develop a collaborative rapport with staff, partners, customers, clients, etc.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint

EDUCATION:

  • B.S. or B.A. Degree or equivalent degree in a field of business analytics or other applicable field of study and 4-6 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An advanced degree analytics, computer science, statistics, or similar is preferred.
