You will continuously find ways to evolve and refine the brand as we advance into our next chapter of organizational growth, setting the design bar for the industry but applying your wealth of experience to sport. We value design creatives from all industries since there can be a unique intersection between your experience and football. You will work cross-functionally with our other creative disciplines: Original Content, Broadcast, Social Media, Event Presentation, Project Management and Photography to establish visual direction, upholding brand standards across all channels and touchpoints (internal and fan-facing). You will also be the merchandise and apparel lead for our retail partner.

An ideal leader within the Tennessee Titans is an effective communicator, solution-focused and a catalyst for improvement. Reporting directly to the VP, Executive Creative Director, you will drive original thought, cross-collaboration with our creative disciplines and be a steward of the Tennessee Titans brand. 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with the Executive Creative Director and lead a team of in-house and contract designers, animators, and a project manager / coordinator on brainstorming, developing and executing design work for the organization. These include but are not limited to creative campaigns, marketing materials, pitch decks, presentations, signage, installations, promotional items, advertisements, social content, etc.
  • Be a steward of the brand, growing and refining its usage as well as continuously finding opportunities to authentically connect it to our fans.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with the entire team (design / creative / internal clients) to ensure that all designs communicate the desired message and functions successfully for the multitude of jobs you will receive.
  • Take ownership of the creative process for each project you are assigned, including inter-departmental communication, problem solving and business decision-making.
  • Provide creative input, ideas and concepts for the overall marketing and brand development of the organization.
  • Identify fresh and emerging internal and external opportunities to promote the Tennessee Titans brand on multiple levels.
  • Select production vendors and provide creative feedback along with the Executive Creative Director.
  • Support end-to-end development of physical signage and products alongside external partners.
  • Monitor gameday graphic development for web and social media.
  • Ability to dig in and create when/where needed. 
  • Manage the production budget for the design team.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or closely related discipline
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the Graphic Design field, within an agency or in a corporate environment, 2-3 years’ experience in a leadership capacity preferred
  • Clear understanding of the organization’s corporate identity
  • Clear understanding of various physical production methods and timelines for print, signage, and environmental design
  • Extensive knowledge of design techniques and emerging technologies
  • Expertise in current graphic design practices, including fluency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Proficiency in Lightroom, Outlook and Microsoft Office on MAC platform
  • Consistently take initiative to complete tasks and projects with limited supervision
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple jobs in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with project managers regarding design projects, progress and deadlines
  • Must always maintain professionalism and be receptive to project changes.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a cross functional team
  • Must understand the role graphic design plays in the marketing and sales process.
  • A knowledge of photography, composition and lighting is an essential
  • Perform physical activities such as setting up for an event and/or producing print mocks
  • Ability to work flexible hours including all game weekends, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Travel less than 20%
