Role summary

 

We’re looking for a motivated and experienced project manager to join the Technology team at a pivotal stage of our growth. As Technology Project Manager you will be responsible for delivering a range of key and significant technology projects from across the technology estate on behalf of SailGP and third parties, ensuring the projects are delivered with a consistent approach.

 

Working with key stakeholders from the technology team and across the business, you will help to identify new technology solutions and make step changes in internal processes to improve efficiencies, reduce cost, reduce our impact on the environment and improve our customer digital experience. These projects include but are not limited to the F50 Simulator, commercialisation of key technologies and supporting the development and advancement of key technology infrastructure and systems.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

  • As Technology Project Manager you’ll be accountable for effective delivery of complex products and services on behalf of SailGP and third parties.
  • You may be responsible for 2-3 smaller delivery teams, or alternatively a single delivery team to deliver a more complex/technical product alongside our partners.
  • We’re looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills who’ll enjoy working in a delivery focused, agile environment with multidisciplinary teams.
  • You’ll be experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams, supporting and continuously improving products of significant scale and complexity and delivering greenfield projects.
  • Working as Technology Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for building, maintaining and motivating teams; protecting the team from distractions and scope creep, encouraging collaboration and providing clear guidance on project priorities.
  • You will proactively manage dependencies, risks and issues to overcome obstacles to delivery, and clearly communicate these to key stakeholders
  • Co-create business cases, RFPs and project plans for technology projects
  • Manage project roadmaps and product backlogs
  • Manage and maintain delivery plans that highlight forecasts/estimates and confidence levels
  • Monitor progress and define milestones on each project to ensure delivery in line with agreed timetables
  • Produce regular and succinct reporting for the members of the technology team
  • Using experience of technology delivery and technical practices to help translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Manage budgets and commercial supplier relationships

 

Background & Technical Skills Preferred

 

  • Solid and demonstrable experience working within a Technology team
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment e.g. Scrum
  • Experience of managing third party suppliers/partners
  • Process mapping/modelling
  • Facilitation of working groups
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking
  • Expertise in Smartsheet and Miro

 

Desirable

 

  • Experience of working on commercial projects
  • Experience of working on engineering based projects
  • Experience of working on technical challenging projects
  • Expertise of using AtLassian products e.g. JIRA
