NFL Events is seeking a full-time employee to take a senior leadership role within the NFL Live Event Operations department.  The primary responsibility of the role is the planning and tactical execution of the NFL’s portfolio of live events focused on the delivery of the league’s international games outside of Europe, the Pro Bowl Games and the Hall of Fame game.  This role will also support Super Bowl, NFL Draft and other domestic NFL Live Events.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of large-scale event management, stadium/venue operations, international event logistics and team/athlete management.  Additionally, the candidate has experience working in a matrixed organization with a proven track record of working cross-functionally and managing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of key NFL tentpole events including the NFL’s international games outside of Europe, the Pro Bowl Games and the Hall of Fame game.
  • Oversee team of NFL staff (2) and vendors (multiple).
  • Ensure smooth operations for the NFL’s key constituent groups including but not limited to participating teams, team ownership, partners, media, broadcast, fans and staff.
  • Coordinate with all internal NFL Departments to ensure onsite needs are met.
  • Develop and manage multi-million dollar event budgets.
  • Develop and deliver visually appealing, persuasive and effective presentation materials.
  • Ability to present clearly to cross organizational group on a regular basis.
  • Participate and manage venue and vendor contract negotiations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of major event transportation systems and operations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of event site entry operations, crowd flow and wayfinding. 
  • Liaise with NFL Security department to develop and implement event emergency plans.
  • Oversee team managing event site builds and operations.
  • Coordinate onsite temporary labor, staff and volunteers.
  • Develop and manage event master schedules.
  • Provide operational support across ancillary events as needed.
  • Work with NFL International team to scout emerging markets for potential NFL Games and events.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years of live event operations experience 
  • 6+ years of large-scale event oversight 
  • Successfully having managed multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • International event experience.
  • Proven accomplishments in organization and management of people and processes.
  • Ability to lead others and collaborate with a variety of groups at different levels to ensure high performance.
  • Strong ability to implement and meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing production and event budgets.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Solid writing and communications skills.
  • Proactive self-starter who works well within a team, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail – work to anticipate issues in advance.
  • Problem solver - ability to not get overwhelmed and solve issues systematically.
  • Team player – willing to do whatever tasks necessary to get the job done correctly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Understanding of labor management both union and non-union
  • Event schedule management 

Physical Demands

  • This is a live event production role and, at times, will require physicality.  This could involve lifting, moving heavy objects, extended periods outdoors in inclement weather, long hours of physical movement during show production, extensive travel requirements,  site builds and adjustment of physical assets.

Travel

  • Significant travel required, up to 50%

Salary / Pay Range

$120,000 - $145,000

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. 

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • FSLA Exempt
  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week. This role requires work on nights and weekends depending on event schedule and time of year.
