Overview /Objective

As the NFL IT Operations Senior Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring stability and reliability of our technology infrastructure. By working closely with managed service providers (MSPs) you will lead a team of talented IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and expertise to maintain and improve our systems. 

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Recruit, lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals. Provide coaching, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative, positive and high-performance work environment. Assign tasks, set goals, and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  • IT Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our technology infrastructure. This includes monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, automating processes, and implementing best practices for IT operations. Ensure systems are configured, maintained, and optimized for high availability and performance.
  • Infrastructure Management: Install, manage, and maintain the company's hardware and software infrastructure, located in datacenters and IDFs, in offices and stadiums, both domestically and internationally. Infrastructure includes power, cooling, cabling, servers, networks, storage, and cloud resources. Ensure that all systems are up-to-date, secure, and well-documented.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement. Generate regular reports on key performance metrics and SLA compliance. Take corrective actions to address performance issues.  
  • Vendor and Asset Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors, MSPs and suppliers, ensuring cost-effective solutions and timely delivery of services. Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, including hardware and software licenses.
  • Incident and Problem Management: Lead incident and problem management processes to ensure swift resolution of technical issues. Implement preventive measures to minimize the recurrence of incidents.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and infrastructure. Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends and compliance requirements.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Work with the BCP Manager to test and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption in case of system failures or emergencies.
  • Project Management: Lead and contribute to IT projects, collaborating with other departments to deliver technology solutions that align with business goals.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Travel and coverage: This position will require the candidate to work weekends, holidays, shifts outside of normal business hours, overtime. It will also require travel between offices domestically in NY, NJ, and CA, and satellite offices throughout North America and Internationally.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in IT operations, system installs, administration, and network management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and software.
  • Proficiency in KPI and SLA establishment and management.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.
  • Project management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, MCSA, CCNA) are a plus.

Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
