As the SVP of Commercial, you will drive Team Liquid's commercial, business development, and partnerships strategy. With your guidance, our global team will work to exceed expectations, negotiate deals, and achieve tangible growth targets. Your ability to align sales aspirations with business strategy and operations will be crucial in driving the overall success of the S&P team. By focusing on partner satisfaction and renewals, your guidance will inspire the team to achieve sales goals and drive the organization forward.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Set achievable sales targets and seek growth opportunities through impactful partnerships with sponsors, agencies, and investors.
  • Navigate complex commercial opportunities by designing and constructing partnerships based on mutually exchanging services and proficiencies between parties.
  • Create an annual forecast and manage it, working closely with other departments and communicating with the board and executive team.
  • Manage budgets, approve major expenditures, and forecast revenue and COGS against partnerships accurately.
  • Represent the company publicly and make official statements when necessary.
  • Direct and mentor a dynamic Sales and Partnerships team and secure new partnerships.
  • Foster a culture of transparency and create stakeholder alignment between all parties.
  • Prioritize and manage inbound deal flow with unwavering dedication.
  • Travel to important areas of the world to expand influence and increase in-market revenues with local partners.
  • Partner seamlessly with internal departments to exceed client expectations.
  • Assist with coordinating with our Liquid Media team to present new business development opportunities with them.
  • Gain a deep familiarity with Team Liquid’s values, purpose, vision, mission, and main quest, and bring these themes into your day-to-day activities.

What You’ll Need:

  • 15+ years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, or relevant experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working in a global environment
  • Strong team player and mentor with experience directing roles that require cross-functional partnerships.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing, scaling, guiding, motivating, and managing high-performing teams, with evidence of achieving substantial growth targets
  • Ability to travel regionally and internationally, and is estimated to be up to 10% of the time, subject to change based on opportunities in certain regions. Anticipated travel may include locations in the US, Japan, the Middle East, Europe, the Netherlands, and South America.

You’ll earn bonus points if you have:

  • Ability to grow new business and bring a new network of relationships to tap into.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key esports industry business contacts, executives, and existing and potential partners.
  • Ability to develop a deep familiarity of the esports ecosystem, trends, opportunities, and regulatory environment.
  • Proven capability to be a strategic planner and adept problem solver, with examples of hands-on, direct implementation and influence that have led to successful outcomes.
  • Commercial mindset balanced with an ability to develop familiarity with sports teams and fandom.
  • Capable of being comfortable- and thriving- in a start-up mentality and environment.
  • Ability to develop a genuine and passionate interest in the gaming, sports, and team/fandom ecosystem beyond video games, live streaming, media, and entertainment, with the ability to articulate your existing interest or your intention to diligently engage in our community and the reasons behind your interest.
  • Capacity to develop a dedication to Team Liquid’s values, including an exemplary work ethic, unwavering integrity, and fervent dedication to the vision, mission, and main quest of Team Liquid, and can demonstrate prior professional endeavors that exhibit evidence of achievements.

Benefits:

The salary range for CA/NY/CO/WA is: $150,000-$250,000 annually + bonus opportunities

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Additionally, this position is eligible for commission following the terms of the company's plan in effect at the time the commission is earned.
