Position Summary:
The New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans are seeking aDirector, Charitable Giving & Development to oversee all charitable giving and philanthropic efforts.
What you will be doing:
- Working in collaboration with the Owner, Executive Team & VP of Equity & Social Impact to implement the annual development strategy and priorities for charitable giving efforts
- Work closely with finance and accounting teams to assess and build annual budgets and provide oversight of budget throughout the year
- Serve as the lead for fundraising and management of corporate, foundation and individual gifts, including potential donor recipient identification and research
- Lead all fundraising activities and events in partnership with third-party consultants and internal team members
- Identify vital levels of contributions to develop new programs and campaigns
- Coordinate and execute all charitable events, including in-stadium fundraising (50/50 raffle), Season of Giving (December), and other community based philanthropic efforts
- Review and consider all submissions of grant applications, correspond with submissions to capture additional information and/or relay decisions, and track processes, develop and generate reports, and ensure grants are fulfilled accurately
- Coordinate and liaise with the NFL and NBA Charitable Foundations and ensure there is an open line of communication regarding all projects, events, and campaigns
- Continue to enhance the organization’s philanthropic image by remaining active, involved, and visible in our community
- Occasionally may be requested to serve as external spokesperson for the organization’s charitable and philanthropic efforts
What you’ll bring:
- A commitment and passion for the city of New Orleans and Gulf South region, with a strong desire to uphold the Saints and Pelicans core values in the community
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, public relations, nonprofit studies, or related field
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in charitable foundation management, nonprofit management, and/or corporate social responsibility
- Experience in navigating the New Orleans philanthropic community, including relationships with donors, partners, and sponsors
- Experience in designing, implementing and executing a comprehensive development plan and in identifying and securing gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations and government agencies, including membership, corporate memberships, patron contributions, grants and event rentals
