Team Penske’s Social Media and Digital Content department helps oversee the team’s social media platforms, which has a combined ecosphere of nearly five million followers between NASCAR & INDYCAR.  In addition to keeping the fans up to date on all things Team Penske, along with providing unique and behind the scenes digital content, the Social Media and Digital Content department also serves as an additional resource for Team Penske’s Marketing department, which helps foster relationships with the team’s 45 corporate partners.

The Creative Video Content Coordinator position will lead, develop, film, produce and create progressive video, and animated motion projects to highlight and feature Team Penske’s NASCAR, INDYCAR and SportsCar teams/drivers/partners via all digital and social media channels, website and internal video displays.

Responsibilities could include, but are not limited to: shooting, producing, directing and editing video content, creation of effects/elements (motion graphics and 3D animation), creation of  compelling short and long form content for Team Penske digital media platforms, managing content and planning specific, timely posts alongside the digital media team, creating weekly/monthly editorial video calendars based on content goals, fulfilling and coordinating partnership/sponsorship video requests with account managers/drivers.

The right candidate will be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and will work closely with other all Team Penske departments, including but not limited to Partnership Marketing, Branding and Licensing.  This job requires some travel.

The Creative Video Content Coordinator works within the Communications department and reports to the Director of Communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for creation, ideation, and production of the majority of Team Penske’s original, in-house-produced video digital content.
  • Create and produce effects/elements (examples: motion graphics and 3D animation).
  • Create compelling short and long form content for Team Penske’s digital media platforms.
  • Work closely in coordination with the Social Media Manager and Social Media Coordinator on content production and deadline expectations.
  • Manage content and plan specific, timely posts alongside the digital media team.
  • Create weekly/monthly editorial video calendar based on content goals.
  • Fulfill and coordinate partnership/sponsorship video requests with account managers/drivers. 
  • Work independently to capture both inner-office and at-track social media content of drivers, partner activations, etc.
  • Serve as primary contact for all video content shot at the Team Penske shop.
  • Keep up with important team dates and milestones and create digital video content to use with social media posts. 
  • Be a part of the planning process for yearly content capture ideation and be a lead in the execution.
  • Plan and prepare all video and production needs for upcoming projects including all venues, rentals, camera, audio, lighting, and grip equipment.
  • Work closely with third-party production companies to coordinate future projects.
  • Actively researches emerging video trends and technology.
  • Understand guidelines for shooting video content within the motorsports realm and work with sanctioning bodies and broadcast partners for licensed video.
  • Serve as a resource for the team on how to best produce video content for partners.
  • Understand privacy restrictions when shooting video content at a race shop.
  • Manage and maintain all production equipment for the team.
  • Participate in weekly meetings, brainstorming sessions and give detailed reports.
  • Participate in calls with partners and the communications team when needed to produce new and engaging ways to showcase our partners and drivers through video content.
  • Be an adaptable team player in all situations, including performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience within the field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, specifically within video content production and development roles.
  • Advanced level experience and proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere, etc.)
  • Ability to produce, edit and direct as a “one-man-band.”
  • Experience in sound and lighting. 
  • Previous experience working with production companies.
  • Possess the highest level of integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; and the ability to communicate across all levels within an organization.
  • Exceptional level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with others in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Self-starter and highly motivated to succeed.
  • Ability to work weekends and travel as required; mostly race weekends with some weekday travel is required.
