The Art Director will work closely with the Sr. Creative Director in developing and implementing world class brand campaign creative and feels empowered by partnering with copywriters, strategists, producers, and marketers. The ideal candidate for this position should demonstrate the ability to lead and support a team of graphic designers to work cross functionally to drive brand initiatives. This candidate should also have the ability to contribute to and execute “big idea” concepts, to think strategically and tell captivating stories across multiple platforms.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Demonstrate strong design ability/aesthetic and lead creative by being a hands-on contributor.
Concept and create campaign initiatives to support business goals
Provide direction and inspiration for a group of designers. Lead team by providing key concepts, design strategy and brand positioning.
Develop design systems and build out reference tools.
Photo and video shoot concepting and direction.
Inspire new ways and remain current on emerging trends to create and solve visual communication opportunities that brings to life the brand through design and storytelling.
Build, lead, inspire, and manage a dedicated design team with passion and positivity.
Develop and maintain brand standards across the organization.
Collaborate with and provide clear and effective feedback to agency partners.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to perform duties with alignment to the Commanders Core Values.
7+ years of experience in creative direction across brand and digital.
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
Proficient in Adobe CC, specifically Photoshop. Keynote, After Effects and motion graphics a plus.
Experience directing 2D and 3D animation, live action and still photography.
Creative, resourceful and an excellent problem solver.
Experience collaborating with agency partners.
Ability to manage workflow and deadlines for multiple projects across teams.
Knowledge and passion for the game of football and cultural impact/stories surrounding the game.
Portfolio of work required.

Working Conditions

Expected to work all home football games from FedexField, “Off-hours” as required, work from Commanders Park in Ashburn, VA as needed.
