 We’re hiring a Video Producer to handle end-to-end production of videos with an emphasis on content creation for Washington Spirit social and digital platforms. This person will have experience in pre-production, including overseeing equipment inventory, setting up shoots, booking freelancers, building shot lists and handling shooting and audio needs during the shoot. They will also work with fellow members of the content team to edit and deliver final assets. The producer should have passion for the video process, experience in a fast-paced environment and knowledge of how content performs on social and digital platforms.   

This role is integral in helping the organization achieve overall goals through social media, connection and storytelling. You will work cross-departmentally to fulfill organizational needs across content, marketing, ticketing, sponsorship, community impact and community development. The successful candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial start-up environment with high standards. They will keep up with a fast pace and are easily able to pivot when something is not working. They embrace change and are excited about innovation. 

The ideal candidate enjoys finding new ways to use video to entertain, inform and engage current and future fans. 
 
The video producer will:  
  • Shoot, edit and produce video content for Spirit platforms  
  • Oversee equipment inventory for video and photo teams, collaborating with team photographer and other video team members on equipment checkout system, maintenance and new orders  
  • Build and manage game day shot lists, including acquiring necessary approvals and working with requestors such as sponsorship and ticketing   
  • Collaborate with Head of Content to book freelance videographers as needed  
  • Brainstorm, script and storyboard new content ideas for tentpoles, organizational milestones and everyday content coverage 
  • Fulfill content requests for in-stadium, communications, ticketing, marketing and other organizational needs  
  • Cover games, practices, events and day-to-day events; nights, weekends and travel as needed 
  • Assist players with content requests and/or video questions  
  • Upload, tag and log footage in Iconik and LucidLink 
  • Ensure compliance with various licenses, including footage and music  
  • Stay up to date on video trends, particularly for social media platforms  
 
Our ideal candidate has:  
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop 
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, working on deadline and juggling multiple projects, while working from a variety of locations 
  • An interest in camera, audio and lighting equipment and the pre-production process and a desire to continue learning 
  • Understanding of video trends, particularly on digital platforms and an ability to adjust edits for different platform needs or changes  
  • A passion of working as part of a greater content team, working collaboratively to brainstorm and execute cutting-edge ideas  
  • Ability to manage individual projects, getting approvals, selecting shots and bites and communicating with other team members 
  • Empathy and trust with a sense of responsibility in telling player stories, nurturing a community and crafting a brand voice 
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed 
  • Detail oriented and organized, with the ability to accomplish daily goals while planning ahead and managing multiple projects simultaneously  
  • An eye for content and stories and in selecting clips, identifying stories and moments 
  • Strong teamwork and collaborative skills, in brainstorming and execution  
  • A curiosity to continue learning  
 
Job Requirements  
  • Availability to work nights, weekends and game days as needed, with travel  
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere, with a desire to continue to learn the Adobe Suite

Location:  
This role is based between our training facility in Leesburg, VA and our Falls Church, VA office, with occasional work in Washington, D.C. Our front office team follows a hybrid arrangement, requiring presence in the office 3 days a week.
