Position Summary/Objective  This position is responsible for providing in-house troubleshooting and guidance on general computer, network, and A/V technologies to the basketball operations staff for the Timberwolves.  You will be providing end-user support and troubleshooting technical issues on laptops and desktops (Majority of the environment is Mac based, with a handful of PCs), MFPs, VoIP phone system, smart phones, A/V equipment on the courts, locker room, and in general office environment.  For this position we are looking for someone with a strong customer service demeanor, that can work under pressure, and is able to help translate technical concepts in to straight forward and easy to understand instructions

  1. Provide technical assistance and support for incoming issues and requests related to computer systems, software, hardware, and A/V.  Be point of contact for all escalated issues and own the ticket/project from start to finish.
  2. Bulk of the support will be provided hands on to end users in their office, cubes, meeting areas, offsite venues, and arena location.  However remote assistance via tools such as ConnectWise (or similar type remote connection support tools) will also be required for travelling staff.
  3. Be available for after-hours support via phone for staff traveling to games, meetings, and other events.
  4. Provide support on game days and/or event day setup as needed at the arena.
  5. Produce and provide clear and concise documentation to end users on IT and A/V systems procedures. 
  6. Assist Director of Technology with projects and vendor management as related to technology needs for basketball operations.
  7. Assist with various hardware and software roll outs and upgrades.
  8. Assist with Helpdesk functions when needed that include, but are not limited to:  End user creation, Active Directory security, JAMF management, setting up and deploying both laptops and desktops, Asset Management, setting up DirecTV boxes, running cabling as needed, etc.

​​ Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other:

  1. World class customer service skills, and the ability to prioritize requests.
  2. Strong Mac skills.  Previous experience with JAMF a plus.
  3. Good general knowledge of networking. 
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. High level of proficiency in the Apple ecosystem around laptops, desktops, and tablets.  This includes new deployments and complete rebuilds. 
  6. Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, OneDrive, Box, and other similar cloud software. 
  7. Ability to manage workload with general instructions and periodic review from supervisor.
  8. Proficiency in using remote tools such as ConnectWise or TeamViewer.
  9. Preference to those who have supported AV needs such as projectors, digital devices such as Apple TV, DirecTV, or other such technology.
  10. Ability to pick up and successfully adapt to new software, hardware, and other technology quickly.
  11. Ability to work well on a team and independently. 

 Experience: ​ Minimum of 2 years of support with Macs in a Helpdesk environment.  Solid understanding of general networking.  Previous experience with prioritizing your own workload and work requests in a demanding environment.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. In addition to working office hours staff may be required to work Timberwolves and Lynx games as well as external events including but not limited to: charity and networking events. Work is both sedentary and active in nature. The working environment is generally favorable, and office lighting and temperature are adequate. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate noise levels.

 

Physical Demands

Work is generally sedentary in nature. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment. Staff will occasionally ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff will frequently move boxes of merchandise and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
